Is there a bear like humanoid race? Like a bear version of a minataur, or Loxo, etc.?

Thanks, Cheers!!:D

I'm fairly certain there's an "Ursan" or somesuch in Frostburn.

EDIT: Yep, almost got the name right. Urskan, Page 159. CR 5, ECL 9.

Thanks. Do you know if it is a PC class, or just a monster??

Uh. What? It's a monster. Not class.

And no one's made a savage progression class for it as far as I know. Not officially, at least.

As he said above: CR 5, ECL 9. Meaning, it's a 9th level character after LA and HD are taken into account.

Go to HERE (http://www.dndadventure.com/dnda_classes.html) and look at the races part, second to last thing.

You could just play an Anthropomorphic Bear.

You could just play an Anthropomorphic Bear.

I have tried making an Anthro Bearfolk race using Savage Species- it does not work well at all, the Anthro tables are kinda broken... if you want to check them out try here (http://boards1.wizards.com/wotc_archive/index.php/t-645236) and this is an older attempt: Bearman (http://boards1.wizards.com/wotc_archive/index.php/t-442885)

There is however a lack of decent WotC approved Bear races broken down and playable from 1st level. I did find this Animal Kingdoms (http://www.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=2721&) on rpgnow- its Bearfolk are not that bad but the background needs tweaking a lot.

There is the Firbolg and Panderan in the Warcraft (http://www.white-wolf.com/warcraftrpg) D20 game, both of them are playable. The Panderan race is ECL 0 but the Firbolgs are +2 (as I recall).

In Frostburn there is the Urskan (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/fb_gallery/83579.jpg) (FB, 5HD, +4 LA, Large Magical Beasts[Cold]) "a race of intelligent, tool-using bearlike creatures" who are nothing but NPC's to me.

Fan made version: Urskan (http://boards1.wizards.com/wotc_archive/index.php/t-559589)

If you are looking for ideas there is the Children of Pelor bearmen on these boards: Ursanare Race (http://boards1.wizards.com/wotc_archive/index.php/t-215031)

There is the Ursinal Guardians from Planescape: Ursinal Guardian here (http://enworld.org/cc/converted/view_c.php?CreatureID=684) Discussiion of their LA: here (http://bb.bbboy.net/niftymessageboard-viewthread?forum=6&thread=611) and as a full race: here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=748825)

In the Bestiary of Krynn (http://www.dragonlance.com/products/SVP-4801.aspx) there is the Ursoi

Do the Galka from Final Fantasy count as Bearmen?

Finally there is Essential Guide to Lycanthropes - Slaves of the Moon (d20) (http://www.frpgames.com/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=8759&ref=d20z) which contains some useful Werebear data.

Thank you.

I found the Yuzzem which where originally described as 'bear like' - not sure meself: check them out (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Yuzzem) or here (http://www.rebelscum.com/swminiROTS54yuzzem.asp)

D20 stats for them are in the Ultimate Alien Anthology book or some fan ones here: This is a Google cache as the orginal site seems down. Hope it works! (http://66.102.9.104/search?q=cache:Frii2q6ct0cJ:holonet.swrp gnetwork.com/showthread.php%3Fpostid%3D92551+Yuzzem+D 20&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=18&gl=uk&client=firefox-a) finally some stat ideas here (http://oracle.wizards.com/scripts/wa.exe?A2=ind0108d&L=dnd-l&D=1&F=&S=&P=8461)

Also the (in)famous Wookiee are quite bear like: here (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Wookiee) again their stats are in the Ultimate Alien Anthology book.

I'll keep looking for more bear like races.

Since baby_kamikaize_kobold has done so much work on them it would not be right to leave the Arktosian (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=903213) out of the list of Bear type races!

Anyone got any other new bear races?
