| vegetalss404-04-07, 02:33 PM | i has made this thread because i think it sounds strange that a half-fiend/celsistal orc who got a child with another orc, then the child would be identical to a half-fiend/celsistal halfling who got a child with another halfling. so i belive that it would be better with a template and wanna know if anyone would plzz help me create one.:) |
| Thomar_of_Uointer04-04-07, 05:29 PM | Umm... Half-fiend celestial orc (standard MM orc with the celestial and half-fiend template), crossed with a standard orc, yes? The result would be a half-fiend half-celestial orc (not sure if there's a fiendtouched template, there probably is), or possibly a half-celestial tiefling. You can apply the half-fiend and half-celestial templates together just fine. |
| primemover00304-04-07, 05:38 PM | I think the OP is asking why a planetouched orc is the same as a planetouched halfling... i.e. why are all tieflings or aasimar based off humans and is there a template to add to the standard races. |
| Elemental_Elf04-04-07, 11:39 PM | Because the creators assumed the (Half-)Celestial and (Half-)Fiendish templates could be used if the Progenitor (from the material plane) was not Human. Granted it doesn't feel the same but its the best you have in core. IMO, looks are superficial, so an Orc Aasimar would look Orcish and an Elf Aasimar would look Elvish. Also I don't see much of a problem with making the Aasimar/Tiefling small if the parent was small. I know this doesn't really help, so i suppose this is just a bump. |

| vegetalss404-05-07, 06:06 AM | because nobody else has come up with a template will i try to do one:) so plzz tell me what you think about it. we start with the tiefling. CREATING A TIEFLING tiefling is a template that can be added to any living, corporal creature with a inteligence score of 4 or more ( referred to hereafter as the base creature). a tiefling uses all the base creature's statistics and special abilities exept as noted below size and type: the base creature's type changes to outsider. do not recalculate hit dice, base attack bonus, or saves. Size is unchanged. the base creature gains the Native subtype. speed: the base creature's speed is unchanged. special attacks:a tiefling has all the special attacks of the base creature, plus the following the tiefling can use darkness once per day (caster level equal to HD) special qualities: a tiefling has all the special qualities of the base creature, plus the following -Darkvision out to 60 feet -resisance to cold 5, electricity5, and fire 5. abilities: change from the base creature as follows: +2 Dexterity, +2 Intelligence, -2 Charisma racial skills: Tieflings have a +2 racial bonus on Bluff and Hide checks challenge rating: ??? Level Adjustment: +1 |
| Alac Luin04-05-07, 07:41 AM | 2 things- type should be Outsider(native), this can be important on a few levels. Changeing type also changes the racial hit die. The reason it does not apply to tieflings or aasimar is they are 1 hd creatures. Next- This is actually a +2 LA template. A bit is paid for in the tieflings or aasimar MM entry by the loss of bonus feat and skills, and the human flexability of Favored Class: Any. |
| vegetalss404-05-07, 08:09 AM | 2 things- type should be Outsider(native) it are Changeing type also changes the racial hit die. not with a half fiend, so i throught i would neither do it with a tiefling Next- This is actually a +2 LA template. A bit is paid for in the tieflings or aasimar MM entry by the loss of bonus feat and skills, and the human flexability of Favored Class: Any. you are right how can i make it a +1 la?? |
| Spikes01k04-05-07, 08:14 AM | I agree, the concept of the planetouched just doesn't make sense at all. It should have been a template from square one, but I think they got lazy on this one. I don't think I can help much with this one at the moment but good luck. |
| Karish04-05-07, 08:22 AM | I use the planetouched as a template and a +1 to LA. Which is fun. Because sometimes I get a planetouched Grey elf. -2 Str, +4 Dex, -2 Con, +4 Int, -2 Cha |
| Alac Luin04-05-07, 08:27 AM | not with a half fiend, so i throught i would neither do it with a tiefling I didn't remember that with the half-fiend. No argument here then. you are right how can i make it a +1 la?? The best way I know of, there is the "draconic" template in Races of Dragon. (or it might be the dragon born... not thinking well now :D). It gets rid of most things, keeps the ability stats, I just don't remember the wording they use. |
| vegetalss404-05-07, 09:01 AM | I didn't remember that with the half-fiend. No argument here then. The best way I know of, there is the "draconic" template in Races of Dragon. (or it might be the dragon born... not thinking well now :D). i belive the draconic template is not for planetouched, but for decedents of the dragons:D |
| Alac Luin04-05-07, 09:06 AM | i belive the draconic template is not for planetouched, but for decedents of the dragons:D I know that :D But it would remove "just enough" from the base creature to keep them from falling into the +2 LA range. Just change the wording (draconic to fiendish) of that one section and it just about has what is needed. |

Just change the wording (draconic to fiendish) of that one section and it just about has what is needed. this might work, but sadly i dont have races of the dragon:weep: so i won't know |
| vegetalss404-05-07, 12:44 PM | do anyone have any sugestions off how to make the template +1 la. |
| Alder_Fiter_Galaz04-05-07, 12:59 PM | i has made this thread because i think it sounds strange that a half-fiend/celsistal orc who got a child with another orc, then the child would be identical to a half-fiend/celsistal halfling who got a child with another halfling. First of all how you can get a half-fiend/half-celestial orc or even a half fiend/celestial orc? For me is nosense, in my country (Peru) there is a lot of racial mixes, and in the colony the mixes are well documented due to the racial hatred. I do not like to explain you the differences between a "zambo" and a "cuarterón" so I apply that knowledge directly to the game. To get a half-fiend (cambion) orc an orc with a fiend must have children, nothing difficult considering most orcs are chaotic evil, so the fiend are probably a tannari. To get a half-celestial orc you need to mix an orc with a celestial (an event very difficult to happen) If those half-celestial orc and half-orcs mixed then (an event very very difficult to happen) then some of the possible results is a aasimar (1/3 celestial)/tiefling (1/3 fiend) orc - not a half-celestial/half-fiend orc! even if that creature is possible to create with the rules. Simply 1/2+1/2+(any number not cero) equals more than one. Then if a aasimar/tiefling orc mixed with another orc the result was either aasimar (1/4celestial)/tiefling (1/4 fiend) orc or you can choose between an aasimar orc or a tiefling orc (appling the rules of racial mixing of Darwin, who really happens in reality that is.) Considering your DM or you (as a DM) allows a half-celestial/half-fiend orc (after all its fantasy) the mix with another orc (quoting myself) the result was either aasimar (1/4 celestial)/tiefling (1/4 fiend) orc or you can choose between an aasimar orc or a tiefling orc (appling the rules of racial mixing of Darwin that is.) The result of your racial mix must look like an half orc (the creature is 1/2 orc) not like an halfling, unless the fiend and the celestial looks like halflings, but there is no such creatures created. You can assume you can find (if you are not the DM) or create halfling like celestials or fiends, to support the idea. Probably if the creature are bad feed or bad treated probably get small size, but if there are other similar creatures consider that documented racial mixes often get the better of the mix of pure races, given proper food. Even then if the creature are somewhat gen-recesive looks like an small sized half orc not like a halfling. But there is a small probability (1/1000 or less) than a aasimar (1/4 celestial)/tiefling (1/4 fiend) orc looks like a halfling nevertheless, for the combination of races, although he/she is not exactly a halfling. I known many people (me included) that never permit such creature as a half-celestial/half-fiend orc in his/her campaigns. |

Thats part of why i want a template. |
| Alder_Fiter_Galaz04-05-07, 02:45 PM | A half celestial orc OR a half fiend orc ? Sorry, I really don't understand that. You can get either a tiefling-like orc (tanarukk in the monsters of faerun) or a aasimar-like orc. You can simply take the tanarukk for a tiefling orc or take an aasimar and put him/her orc blood and the racial adjustments of the half-orc instead of the aasimar's -or something like that- for the aasimar orc. Even then the creature looks more like a half orc than a halfling. Other option is to use the bloodlines alternate rules in www(point)d20srd(point)org/index(point)htm note that this rules are open gaming license, so are oficial. I think I see exactly what you need in the oficial planescape 3.5 page at www(point)planewalker(point)com. I do not put the links with the proper format due to the problem to autolink pages with the WOTC forum. Nevertheless if you do not found the template you need, the people on planewalker can help you more to make a aasimar or tielfing template. Maybe i try to make one for you, given time. |
