| M-bark01-09-08, 10:23 AM | One of my friends I play with wants to start playing with a new character, preferably a planetouched. The Genasi, Aasimar, Tiefling, Chaond and Zenythri in Monster Manual I and II didn't fit his tastes, but we reminded ourselves of the fact that there are more planes than just the elemental planes and the Outer Planes. After searching around for more of them, I picked up the names of Shadowswyft and Shyft, from the Plane of Shadow and the Ethereal Plane respectively, but the stats I found in the various sources differed greatly. Do any planetouched of the following planes exist, and if so, in which book can they be found? - Positive Energy Plane - Negative Energy Plane - Plane of Shadow - Ethereal Plae - Astral Plane (If the actual stats for those planetouched could be posted, it would be much appreciated, since the group we play with don't possess a large array of rulebooks altogether.) |
| strenoth01-09-08, 11:21 AM | there is a 'shadow' template, and a weaker version called 'dark', but it's a plane-oriented tempalte, not a specific planetouched race. |
| zook1shoe66601-09-08, 12:16 PM | heres the list of the official 3.X planetouched. the Shyft is the ethereal-based planetouched, the rest are none of the requested ones. | narack01-09-08, 12:23 PM | there is a positive energy in one of the monster manual 2-3 or 4 i don't remember the name but the image look like a blue/white lighty humanoid with equipment on it and his head is floating(he have no neck) he is then immune to vorpal weapons and it says it in his description. his touch attack had positive energy of 1d8 if i remember. |
| M-bark01-09-08, 12:54 PM | That thing you mentioned is the Lumi, I think. It hails from the Positive Energy Plane, but it is not a planetouched, and my friend was firm in saying he wanted to play a planetouched. Thanks for that list, that might help. I think it's incomplete, though, considering the information I found, since I found some things about Shadowswyfts that supposedly are Planetouched by the Plane of Shadow, and I kinda just wanted to know about Planetouched of the aforementioned planes. |
| HernetheHunter01-09-08, 11:54 PM | The Shadowswyft is a Planetouched and is considered Extraplanar. As for official WotC supplements that contain what your asking for, I am unaware of any at this time. You can try the Planewalker site. They may have a few creations that would fit your desires. |
| HernetheHunter01-10-08, 01:28 AM | Also the Gloaming from FR: Underdark is a plane of Shadow descendee. (Draegloth would be considered Half-fiend) |
| M-bark01-10-08, 02:32 AM | Thanks for that information, you don't happen to know in which rulebook I can find the statistics for those? So now I still just have to find information on Astral planetouched and those of the Positive and Negative Energy planes. |
| 1 ton ghost01-10-08, 12:28 PM | not sure how a living coupling could work from a pairing w/ a Neg.Enery partner. typically, aren't they, um, "living impaired" to be polite? unless you're getting into Half-Vampiric (Libris Mortis), i'm not sure how it would work. physically, and metaphorically, its as complicated as stereo instructions. still, more planetouched is ok. sounds good anyway. -the Krinth (Champs of Ruins) aren't genasi per se, simply the byproduct of shadow dwelling demons/etc. and Netherese Humans (Faerun) to create a slave race. terribly effective combatants, no LA, good Wills, darkvision, etc. typical stuff you might expect from a normative powered PC race. -shadowlord (or is it shadowmaster?) template (Unapproachable East) is outstanding, but not a race. +1 LA i think. |
| zook1shoe66601-10-08, 01:45 PM | Thanks for that information, you don't happen to know in which rulebook I can find the statistics for those? So now I still just have to find information on Astral planetouched and those of the Positive and Negative Energy planes. the Buomman is the closest ive seen to an Astral planetouched, even though they dont mention planetouched. |
| Legdiwena01-10-08, 05:28 PM | What about instead of a coupling involving undead, a coupling and pregnancy on the Neg Energy Plane with participants immune or resistant to the effects of said plane. Immunity might make a normal baby, but would partial resistance create a planetouched creature? |
| HernetheHunter01-11-08, 12:09 AM | The shadowswyft is from the Planar Handbook and the Gloaming is from FR: Underdark. As for negative and positive planetouched, there currently is not a WotC product that contains such a race. You could create one yourself. Take the Lumi mentioned above and imagine what a race descended from such a creature would be like. |
| M-bark01-12-08, 07:52 PM | Hm. Well, I had heard that there were Positive/Negative Energy planetouched in 2e, or in the Dragon magazine, in an issue somewhere in the later 200s. I suppose the source I got that from could be wrong, though. |
| HernetheHunter01-14-08, 02:12 AM | Doing a little research found me an astral planetouched elf from Green Ronins Races of Renown - Aasimar & Tiefling book. And checked my later Dragons and all I found were articles in 293 & 297. And check the Planewalker.com site and you will find unofficial material. |
| M-bark01-14-08, 09:52 AM | =D Thanks loads, that really helps. Said friend loves psychic elves. |
| brutus01-14-08, 09:56 AM | You might also take a look at the Lumi in the MM3, that is also from the positive energy plane. |
| Larz_Fang01-19-08, 04:39 PM | You might also take a look at the Lumi in the MM3, that is also from the positive energy plane. D'oh! That was already covered in the earlier posts. C'mon, read before you write, man! :nonono: |
