I'm positive I've seen a pseudo-lycanthrope template somewhere around the Wizards site, but can't seem to find it anymore. It was something like shapechange subtype and DR2/Silver, with a crummy alternate form that was just a hairy, animal version of you, for LA +1. Anybody know where this is, or have the info?
Thanks!

Sounds to me like the Savage Progressions (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/arch/sp) articles. The Lycanthrope templates were broken up into two template classes, one for Lycanthrope and one for the animal.

There's also SKR's "Curse of the Moon" approach which has been posted about a few times. The shapechanging granted in that one is fairly basic, but you later build on it using feats: http://www.seankreynolds.com/skrg/products/005COTM/

You might also be thinking of the shifter race, from either Eberron or MMIII.

No, it wasn't any of those. Trust me, I've looked in all of those places. I suppose just the first LA from the savage progressions would approimate it. Hmmm.

Ahhh, found it... Quasilycanthrope, doh! http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/mb/20040721a
