On page 129 of Races of Eberron, there's a Racial Substitution Level for Warforged Artificers, right? Understandable. I dig how Racial Sub levels work.

So, here's my beef. Craft Weapon Familiar replaces the Retain Essence class ability gained at 5th level. Basically read as, "The Warforged Artificer can craft an intelligent melee weapon that functions much like a wizard or sorcerer's familiar." Okay, so far I still get it. You make an intelligent item out of one a melee weapon and then it counts as a familiar for you.

Here's the part about I really don't understand: This Weapon Familiar, at first level, gains the ability, "Share Infusions" just like "Share Spells" that a familiar gets. Essentially, any buff you throw on yourself throws on this weapon familiar too.

The thing is...what Infusions can affect both a Warforged and a weapon? I mean, I get it if you maybe use Repair Light Damage to heal yourself, but then you're also healing your weapon, which kinda...I mean, I guess if someone tried to sunder it and didn't kill it all the way, that's something I suppose. So, what if I say...Throw on a Magical Weapon? Make my weapon a +1. How does that affect myself, the Warforged? What if I enchant myself with Greater Armor Enhancement, and make my Composite Plating Slick? How does that affect my Weapon Familiar? Can a weapon even BE slick?

Essentially, I'm asking how this Share Infusions on a Weapon Familiar can be worked to buff myself and my Weapon at the same time or really...to use it in any proactive way.

Any ideas from the Races board would be nice.
Thanks.

=Edit= Wasn't sure if this went in the Races or Classes forum, but given it's a Racial sub, I figured here would be good.

I don't own races of ebberon, but i do play a warforged artificier. What is your build? That would help a lot.

Warforged
Artificer 4/Reforged 2/Warforged Juggernaut 4/Spellcarved Soldier 5/Artificer 9

Adamantine Body (1st level)
Shocking Fist (Flaw)
Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Spear Spikard) (Flaw)
Silver Tracery (3rd)
Power Attack (6th)
Improved Bull Rush (9th)
Second Slam (12th)
Jaws of Death (15th)
Improved Homonculus (18th)

100% focused on buffing up himself and his Iron Defender and running into melee.
Uses a double Spare Hand to hold a shield with one and reload the Spikard and/or use a pot/wand with the other
I have levels in Reforged for storyline purposes, and levels in Juggernaut for the same reason, but that class actually does give me some cool abilities. I don't finish out either class because I don't want to be a construct, or a living creature, I want to be a Living Construct.
The idea is to hang back for a turn or two just to buff my weapons/AC/hp/etc. then charge at a specific enemy, bull rushin anyone else out of the way with my bulk/spikes/four arms and then start wailing on that guy using the couple Spikard attacks followed up by a couple Slams with a buffed up Battlefist and a Bite from Jaws of Death.
My Battlefist is the Intelligent item I'm using with the Weapon Familiar class ability.

The real question is what infusion can I buff my Battlefist with that will also affect my artificer given it has the Share Infusions ability.
