Quick question:

Does anyone know of any race who has favored class: Scout?

I know that I could just switch the Elf favored class, but I was just wondering if my work was cut out for me :D.

Something with +Dex would be preferable, of course.

As far as I know, any published race with a favored class uses one of the core classes. It's considered bad form to have one non-core supplement that requires another non-core supplement.

I think the Varag in MM4 have favored class of Scout.

Unfortunately I don't have the MM4. Is there a link you could give me?

Indeed, the varag's favored class is scout. Monster Manual IV, page 170.

Crystalkeep (http://www.crystalkeep.com/d20/rules/DnD3.5Index-Races.pdf) to the rescue! You can find Varag (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/mm4_gallery/98729.jpg) from page 26.

I like the Varag, but I don't like LA at all.

I just made up a level 7 Human Scout, and he's pretty good. I rolled 4d6, and dropped the lowest for ability scores, and his Dexterity score ended up as 21 (18 base+1 at level+gloves of dexterity+2), and he has a 17 Wisdom. The rest are all 14s (yes, I rolled that way).

He has a +1 flaming composite shortbow,(+2 Strength bonus), which makes it so if I move 10ft or more I deal 4d6 damage, +8 since I have a Dexterity modifier of 5, the weapon is +1, and it's composite. (Don't forget skirmish.)

That's more damage than the Knight, but less than the Warmage. Pretty good, I think.

The Human racial traits gave me an extra feat, so I had five feats to use when I was making it. I ended up with Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot, Dodge, Mobility, and Shot on the Run.

I might change the special ability of the bow, since flaming weapons+weapons=forest fires=not very Scoutish.

I think ended up with a good character, overall. If there are better races, though, I wouldn't mind re-making the character, though.

Are you adding your Dex bonus to damage? Counting skirmish, you should attack at +11 for 3d6 +1d6 fire + 3 (adding +1 to attack and damage if within 30 feet). Your Dex modifier only counts toward your attack roll, not for damage.

Really? Crud. Oh well. So roll the die.

Keep the flaming on your bow, and then if you want a different elemental damage then pick up an augament crystal, you can add an extra d6 of that damage type. and the highest ones (once your bows enhancment is +3 or better) gets a neat ability, i like the acid one as it helps the rouges (and spell casters with touch attacks) hit easier, that -1 goes along way

The problem is that agament crystals are in the Magic Item Compendium, and I don't have it :(.

GET IT.

I can't: I don't have the funds, since I'm trying to get enough money to buy a good computer.

(It's hard... I keep having to make Will saves. Once a day, at least.)

Well, at least you can use Internet at home. Right? I can't, and now I have to cut down my Internet time consumal at school and I have been given a netban at my local library. Also, the local net café-prices are just sick (3€/hour).
