Race for Thayan Gladiator [Archive] - Wizards Community

I'm looking for a race to play a Thayan Gladiator.

What I'm after is a Human looking race with at least one natural weapon with no or at least a very low LA adjustment.

The Thayan Gladiator prestige class requires at least on natural weapon if IRC.

Any ideas?

A human with a very minor template may work but the LA needs to be 0 or 1.

Ideally I would be able to play this character from first level.

08-28-07, 09:45 PM Monk could work, since its unarmed strikes are treated as natural weapons.

Maybe monk2/fighter4/gladiator10/whatever? There is some feat which gives you a limited unarmed damage progression. Together with INA and those enchantments, your fists should do some serious damage.:)

+1 LA

+8 str, -2 dex, +4 con, -6 int, -0 wis, -2 cha

plus 2 claw attacks and more special attacks, gets UGLY!!!

monk is a good idea too, since the unarmed strike would be your natural attack you choose. :-D

P.S.- Speed is one of the best of the avail abilities to add to your weapon :)

Isn't it usually considered a bit outrageous for the cost of +1 LA?

Could I go feral Human (does anything in the template prevent that from happening)? Sort of like a 'wild man of Borneo' captured in the jungle and pressed into service of the Thayan gladiatorial pits.

Does the Feral template give you natural weapons (claws)?

Does anyone know any +0 or +1 humanoid races with natural weapons?

08-29-07, 01:07 AM the Feral template is probably the BEST +1 LA templates in the game.

the Feral template grants the claws and several attack options based around the claw attacks... like Rend

i personally dislike humans... i would go something with a bigger kick with the ability scores.

one of the kobold variants in one of the WotC downloads gives them claws. other than that... i can't think of any thast get natural attacks.
