| dawnbringer12-13-07, 09:01 AM | Is there a race without racial hit die that grants spot as a class skill? |
| Mindolin12-13-07, 09:14 AM | As a general rule, races don't grant skills as class skills. Only bonuses to skills |
| Kernath12-13-07, 12:01 PM | A race without racial hit dice cannot grant racial class skills. They don't earn any skill points for their hit dice, so they can't have class skill lists. |
| HyperFreak12-13-07, 01:46 PM | Kobolds from Races of the Dragon add Craft (trapmaking) to thier class skills. They have no racial hit dice. It IS possible for a race without racial HD to add a skill, but it's really rare and generally nothing overly useful. I cannot think of any race that adds spot as a class skill, though there are plenty with bonuses. You may have to settle for one of those. |
| Legdiwena12-13-07, 09:54 PM | If you have a racial bonus to a skill, is it always a class skill for you? |
| Orchomenos12-14-07, 11:07 AM | If you have a racial bonus to a skill, is it always a class skill for you? No. It's just that. A bonus. An elf has a +2 racial bonus on spot checks, but if you play an elf fighter with Wisdom 10, and you don't want to buy cross-class skills, then your total spot modifier is just +2. But if you play an elven druid, with high wisdom and spot as a class skill, then you can add your ability bonus and easily buy skill ranks to have a very high spot modifier. However, the feat Able Learner from Race of Destiny allow humans and doppleganger to treat ALL skills as class skills. |
