| Sylvaroth02-02-07, 03:20 PM | It was originally Bait the Bard who had compiled a list of races and templates posted by members on the boards. Since then numerous members of the boards have contributed to an always up to date new version of the famous and original Races Compendium. As the starter of this thread, I promise to do my best to keep this new compendium updated with the new races and templates you post here. So let's get started with: Sylvaroth's http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v213/Farzul/RC2.jpg v1.2 If you have any questions, suggestions, or additions, please post them here. FORMATTING If you wish to add an entry to the Compendium you can faciliate my work by copying the below formatting for new entries: Name (Race orTemplate?). A link to the appropriate post or thread. (A short, to the heart getting description of the race or template.) CONTENTS SECTION I - RACES Over 726 creeps, critters, and creatures keep players on their toes. SECTION II - TEMPLATES 57 new ways to make your monsters, NPCs or PCs even more powerful. SECTION III - LINKS 13 links to threads on these boards for all of you who want to have more than the average random encounter in their game. SECTION IV - MISCELLANEOUS |

| RoCkEtInToXiCaTe02-03-07, 08:57 PM | My TEMPLATES: S-Cry-ED Alter Template (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=9714626&postcount=66) A Powerful Arm template that progresses, based off Kazuma from S-Cry-ED. S-Cry-ED Alter Sphere (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=9714630&postcount=67) A Powerful Array of Magical Spheres with many abilities, Based off Tachibana from S-Cry-ED. S-Cry-ED Speed Alter (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=9751294&postcount=85) A powerful template that enhances the speed of the base creature to unimaginable heights, based off Straight Cougar from S-Cry-ED. S-Cry-ED Alter Construct (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=9751294&postcount=85) A powerful template that allows the base creature to summon a powerful familiar and eventually merge with it, based off Ryuho from S-Cry-ED. S-Cry-ED Alter Magnum (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=10983588&postcount=246) A giant gun with which to defeat your enemies with summoned by your mind, based off an S-Cry-Ed character. S-Cry-Ed Alter Hammer (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=10983608&postcount=247) A giant Hammer familiar of sorts controllable by you that you use to decimate your opponents, based off S-Cry-Ed's Biff. The Half-Animal Template (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=10405231&postcount=187) Sort of a way to have a hybrid "lycanthropic" form without having to ever change out of it. The Angelic Demon/Demonic Angel (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=10570286&postcount=210) A fusion of the Half-Celestial and Half-Fiend templates. My RACES: Xin'Douti (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=9716783&postcount=70) A shadow race based of Bhengi from Vampire Hunter D bloodlust, well suited for a Rogue. Minotaur (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=9716790&postcount=71) An LA + 0 Minotaur Race that's Player Friendly, well suited for a Barbarian. Viashino (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=9767233&postcount=91) A lizard-man race from Magic: The Gathering with many subraces that are all good at various things. Troll, Azerothian (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=9767233&postcount=91) The Azerothian Troll based off the Warcraft III trolls. Zan (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=10391297&postcount=186) A powerful race built for combat, and slaying, with many good abilities. Based off Monster Rancher 3/4 games. The Wrathful (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=10512108&postcount=201) A race based on the gargoyle, but more predatory like. Shokan (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=10609538&postcount=212) The same race that Goro and Kintaro and Shiva from Mortal Kombat are. Brute (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=10983608&postcount=247) A massive race built of pure muscle that uses intimidation and brute force to punish opponents into submission. Azerothian Orc (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=11375729&postcount=1) In my opinion an improved Orc with more nobility and honor, with as much strength as regular Orcs, and less weaknesses, with still no LA. Forest Elves (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=11378281&postcount=1) A real Elven Subrace that is totally different from regular Elves, they are primal in every way with natural attacks and are a real warrior race. |
| Sylvaroth02-04-07, 05:12 PM | *BOOM!* RoCkEtInToXiCaTe Races (10) & Templates (8) Added ;) -the just as annoying Sylvaroth |
| RoCkEtInToXiCaTe02-04-07, 05:13 PM | I didn't realize how many races I had created, haha. |
| Insane Pixie02-04-07, 05:15 PM | I did a thread like this a while ago, in a nearly identical format, but mine was completely disregarded. I hope yours has better luck. |
| Galeigh02-04-07, 10:47 PM | Wow, ok couple of things, but first: Thnx for the updates.... 1. You posted my Hunter race twice, dunno why. Must be a typo 2. My half-dragon template is old, very old, and was a mistake to begin with :P I have a different template you can use to replace it. Edit: i add anything new I make to my sig, but as a courtesy I'll let you know ^_^ |
| kwanzaabot02-05-07, 02:18 AM | A lot of those links seem to be outdated. I keep getting "No Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator". |
| Izodor_Shadowcaster02-05-07, 11:05 AM | Could you add all my races? They are in my signature. :) |
| Sylvaroth02-05-07, 11:35 AM | All races posted in this thread (resp. links to them) have priority. As soon as I have added your races, I will start to update the links from BtB's Races Compendium. |
| Poison_Dusk02-05-07, 12:37 PM | As yet to be named Saurian Race: Carnasaur Race (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=10690615&postcount=1) (Big, carnivorus Suarians) |

| Izodor_Shadowcaster02-08-07, 11:07 AM | Thank you, that must have been an awfull lot of work. :) Izodor, |
| benstundze02-08-07, 01:12 PM | i hate to nitpick but you should make category’s. elf, gnome, catlike monsters, and so on that why you can search what you need not go through names and get lucky. it would have been allot easier if you did it from the start. well have a good one. I wish you the best of luck ben EDIT: seems you already tell the type just group them together. |
| Thugorp02-08-07, 01:40 PM | All races posted in this thread (resp. links to them) have priority. As soon as I have added your races, I will start to update the links from BtB's Races Compendium. Why would you link bate the bards race compendium races to this one. I get why you would want to make a new race compendium if his stoped being updated, but why link the races there in her, wouldnt it be better if you only included new races here that way people whould no that they could go to his boards for the old races nad yours for new ones? Im not complaining im just curious.:D |
| benstundze02-08-07, 01:55 PM | For the exact reason you stated. "That way people would no that they could go to his boards for the old races nad yours for new ones" That’s not fun, and people don’t like that, so they normally chose 1 over the other. Making that chose, most would go to bate the bards thread because it has more in it. Its the way of people, and if he made them make that decision his thread would die. hope this helps ben |
| Sylvaroth02-08-07, 02:36 PM | Thank you, That must have been an awful lot of work :) Izodor Not as much work as creating those critters obviously ;) I hate to nitpick, but you should make categories, e.g. elves, gnomes, catlike monsters, and so on. That way you could search what you need, not having to go through names, hoping to be lucky. It would have been a lot easier, if you had done so from the start. Well, have a good one. I wish you the best of luck, ben EDIT: Seems you already tell the type. Just group them together! Keep an eye out for future version updates of the RCII ;) ... :D Well, I am not too sure, what you are asking for, but in case you want to know why this compendium does also include all races from BtB’s original one, I would have to respond, it is just for the convenience of the user. Why hop to and fro’, if everything you were looking for was right in front of you? |

LA +1 Snow Goblin (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20040911a&page=4): Small residents of cold climates. Climb speed. LA +1 Deep Imaskari (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20031003b): Naturally magical, intelligent people. LA +0 Sharakim (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20041203a&page=3): Orc-like beings. Intelligent. LA +1 Gray Orcs (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20030301a): Scent ability, wise, greataxe/longbow proficiency. LA +1 Whisper Gnomes (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20040807a&page=3): Small, stealthy gnomes. LA +0 All of these races have been featured in the "excerpts" articles of WoTC. The snow goblin & the tasloi were originally monster races. Now for even more! Neraph (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/iw/20040613a&page=2): Slaad-like creatures native to Limbo. LA +0 Kender (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/iw/20030713a): Small, fearless beings. LA +0 Lesser Drow: Drow without SR. LA +0. Statistics listed at bottom. Arctic Dwarves (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=dnd/iw/iw20030216a): Cold immune dwarves. Note that they are small. LA +2 Goliaths (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/iw/20040711b&page=5): A strong race. LA +1 Raptorans (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/iw/20050106b&page=1): Quasi-flying beings. LA +1 Orcs of the High Forest (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/frgr/20040206a): Variant orcs. As far as I can tell, strictly better. LA +0 Racial Abilities: These traits are in addition to the standard elf abilities in the Player's Handbook, except where noted. +2 Dexterity, -2 Constitution: The lesser drow have ruthlessly selected for agility at the expense of hardiness over countless generations. These adjustments replace the ability adjustments given for elves in the Player's Handbook. Darkvision: Lesser drow can see in the dark up to 60 feet. Darkvision is black and white only, but it is otherwise like normal sight, and lesser drow can function just fine with no light at all. This ability replaces the low-light vision noted for elves in the Player's Handbook. Weapon Proficiency: Lesser drow are automatically proficient with the hand crossbow, rapier, and short sword. These proficiencies replace those of standard elves. +2 racial bonus on Will saves against spells and spell-like effects. Spell-Like Abilities: A lesser drow with a Charisma score of at least 10 has the following spell-like abilities: 1/day -- dancing lights, daze, touch of fatigue. Caster level equals the lesser drow's class levels. Light Blindness: Abrupt exposure to bright light (such as sunlight or a daylight spell) blinds lesser drow for 1 round. On subsequent rounds, they are dazzled as long as they remain in the affected area. Favored Class: Wizard (male) or cleric (female). This trait replaces the favored class entry for elves in the Player's Handbook. |
