| captainh06-27-07, 11:10 PM | Are there any 0 level adjust races that start with any armor proficiencies? |
| MikeN06-28-07, 12:04 AM | Humans give you two extra feats you can spend on them :P |
| Jaxgaret06-28-07, 12:12 AM | IIRC the only races that are going to have an armor proficiency (if there are even any, can't recall off the top of my head if some of the RHDs grant APs) are ones with Racial Hit Dice; thus there is no possible way to have an ECL0 race with armor proficiency. Is there some reason why you want armor proficiency other than through class features? Tell us why and maybe we can help you. |

| Mr_Teapot06-30-07, 10:02 AM | Elan get light armor proficiency. Specifically, they get it from the aberration type: Proficient with whatever type of armor (light, medium, or heavy) it is described as wearing, as well as all lighter types. And the monster description for Elans (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/monsters/elan.htm) lists them as wearing studded leather. Note that Aberration works differently from humanoid, which specifies "Proficient with whatever type of armor (light, medium, or heavy) it is described as wearing, or by character class." Which means not all dwarves automatically get Medium armor when just because they are described as wearing scale mail. Elans specifically note that they don't get the aberration darkvision (listed in the same list as the armor proficiency) but make no mention of the proficiencies being negated. Basically, Elans get light armor for the same reasons aasimar get martial weapon proficiency. |
