Races with Spell Resistance. [Archive] - Wizards Community

This is just a general query about officially published races with spell resistance and an LA of 5 of less.

I'm familiar with Drow and Pixies, but am not really sure about what else might be out there.

My question is both for the potential for character design, but also for the possibility of using them for the BBEG, as the party contains quite a few spellcasters.

Any help would be appreciated...

Hagspawn from unapproachable east(+2str/con, -2cha, NA+2, sr11+HD)
Half celestial/fiend grant sr.

Derro: HD 3, LA +2 (if Sane), SR 12+class levels/HD (takes constitution damage in the sun)
Grig (Sprite): LA +3, SR 17+class levels
Half-Celestial/Fiend: LA +4, SR 10+HD/class levels (capped at 35)
Nixie (Sprite): LA +3, SR 16+class levels
Phrenic Creature (Template): LA +2, SR 10+class levels
Pseudodragon: HD 2, LA +3, SR 17+HD/class levels
Svirfneblin (Gnome): LA +3, SR 11+class levels

Those sprites are certainly looks worth a look... But I'm curious to know if there are any more out there.

02-25-07, 10:01 AM I can vouch for Nixies. +8 charisma, some damage reduction, low base CR, and a natural inclination for (temporary) slave labor (via charm person) make them fairly nice for classed BBEGs. Send them up (Battle) Sorcerer or Wilder -> Thrallherd for best results. Dip in Marshal for even more fun.

02-25-07, 10:35 AM What sort of build do you have in mind. This can help in narrowing down and list and ensuring that any future suggestions are more relevant.:)

Essentially, I'm just looking to see what is out there and then take things from there, once I've an idea of the various flavours that spell resistant races come in.

For example, with the sprites, I'm thinking of putting together a leprecaunish type of trick user, perhaps using the Complete Scoundrel. This wouldn't be a BBEG as such, but more a pain in the butt, designed to keep the players amused and frustrated for hours on end.

Nixies look like they could be a good nymph substitute as well.
