Anyone know of an Official race of Rats or mice?

I'm looking for something that i can use to create an Ink-Eyes (from MTG)sort of character...

Like, big ones or little ones? There's a race of medium-sized anthropomorphic rats in the Oriental Adventures book.

Tiny rats would be a rather high CR thanks to their size bonuses and high dexterity... not to mention their size and appearance alone would give them a powerful advantage.

There's probably a Hengeyokai that uses rats as it's animal.

Yeah, i meant either medium or small sized. The mtg character in question was actually from an oriental themed set, i shoulda guessed to check OA.

Thanks much!!!

And for reference:
Ink-eyes, servant of oni

No, there is a rat like race in the Oriental Adventures 3.0. I dont have the book on hand right now, but IIRC they are the Nazumi or something like that?

the mtg rats were called nezumi (nezumi cutthroat) - this sounds like it would be perfect.

Do you rememebr if it would be balanced in a 3.5 only campaign?

That's what they're called in Oriental Adventures. The Nezumi are balanced. They have prehensile tails, I believe and +2 con -2 cha... I think. They also might be immune or have a bonus against disease. I had a Nezumi once... his name was Ikki Ikki Ktang and Wizz!

Depends on what you want out of it.
OA is really a mish-mash of ideas and half rules for making an oriental campaign, as opposed to a campaign book. It has all sorts of singular, useful bits and some not so useful bits, based on what you want; The ninja spy prestige class, for example, isn't very good considering there is now a ninja base class.

The Nezumi themselves aren't a bad race now that I'm going over the book... Just be sure upon making the character to have a wisdom of at least 11, so you can take the scent feat :D

Yes. Yes it is. But it is 3.0.

You will want to acquire a 3.5 Dragon update (#318) for Oriental Adventures if you're not playing 3.0.

...and ninja spy is better than the Complete Adventurer ninja. :P
