Savage Ritual Transformation [Archive] - Wizards Community

I was thinking about going through the transformation ritual to become a gray elf, but there is a problem. I am currently a level 16 barbarian, and really don't want the -2 to str and con.

So I was wondering, could I get a custom ritual, in the rules, that allow me to not get any stat modifications and become an gray elf.

So basically I am looking for rules in the savage species book that allows for a +2 str, -2 dex, +2 con, and -2 int.

I know that in the end I could always become a half gray elf and everything would be fine, except for the lesser life span, but I have my own RP reasons for becoming gray elf.

04-09-08, 09:46 AM Wish would probably be the way, you can certainly ask for that kind of thing following the Savage Species guidelines. Other than that, your only option is agreeing with your DM on designing a ritual which grant change you without changing your physical attribute. There are no rules like the one you're looking for, but the ritual provided in SS are only examples, and transforming is already an optionnal rule; you're encouraged (and suppose) to design rituals.

Its looking like I will be going for a half gray elf... :(

04-09-08, 07:46 PM You could suggest a new ritual called something like 'Ritual of elite retraining' or something like that that allows you to change into a strong specimen of your new race, something that would let you keep your old scores and you'd gain the new racial adjustement. That would be like being that race from the start. It's not far fetch considering the retraining rules from PHB2. The ritual could be more expensive (like 1500 gp x caster level x final ECL of the goal creature). Just a thought.
