Self-Spellstitching [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-28-07, 04:42 PM If you are one of those freaks who imbues undead with spell-like abilities (like me) have you ever wondered if you could do it to yourself if you were undead like a lich or undying. So just leave some of your opinions, ty!

10-29-07, 10:30 PM Says right in the template that undead with arcane spellcasting can spellstitch themselves. If you can pull it off it is better to get someone else to do it for you, so you get higher level spells sooner.

Also, stock up on corpse-crafting feats from "Libris Mortis", an idea that was part of my original reanimate-self-as-super-vampire plan, and you're good to go.

Contigency lets you store one spell of a level equal to your caster level / 3, never to exceed 6. Create undead is a 6th level spell, and so you could put it on a contingency at level 18. This would allow you to make yourself into a:
Ghoul
Ghast
Mummy
Worg

None of these are templates, so you would lose all your spell casting and such. Also you could use animate dead, but that would turn you into a mindless zombie, so your prospects are even worse.
If you had some sort of greater contingency then you could use greater create undead, but you would still have the same problem as none of thoes cretures are templates either. I cant think of any spell that makes vampires. Perhapes you could make some kind of pact with the ghoul lord to come back as a special ghoul (Cant rember the name, but its in BoVD or Libris Mortis) but baring that i dont see how your plan would work. Although coming back as a Suped-up Worg when you die would be a great trick for a BBEG to pull on a party should they defeat him.

11-14-07, 02:31 AM If you hire someone, make sure they are a mystic theurge. It does not specify that the spells have to be Arcane, only the the crafer has to know Arcane spells, and Inflicts can help you so much more than anything else.

No, you couldnt. Create undead gives you a small list of Undead that you can Create with it. Unless their is something in savage species that specifically lets you do this. If thjeir is then im goign to start turning every dead dragon into a spectral dragon with my sweet, super powered but still low level create undead spell.
