| 1 ton ghost10-16-07, 02:09 AM | between all the conflicting text on them, wtf is the correct one? more specifically, a concise, MODERN, read, 3.5 version would be very nice if anyone knows. failing that, accurate LA and powers plz as i'm not sure what's up and being true to form is rather important now. thanks |
| Rune_Munch10-16-07, 09:09 AM | The most recent version of the Shade is in Magics of Faerun i believe. |
| Rune_Munch10-16-07, 09:13 AM | nope. Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting page 314 |
| steventirey198510-16-07, 10:06 AM | No. Races of Faerun is more recent than FRCS. I'm not sure if there is anything more recent than that, so I believe Races of Faerun page 147 is the current version. |
| McPoyo10-16-07, 10:41 AM | Races of faerun is more up-to-date than the FRCS, and there is a 3.5 update for that book in the downloads section of the website that brings them from 3.0 to 3.5 |
| 1 ton ghost10-16-07, 09:09 PM | not sure what's up w/ the web enhancement, i try not to mess w/ that preferring my mountain of text (hardcopy). i guess i should stop being so anachronistic and man up to the web site stuff... yeah, i know Races is more modern, but it's all historical and/or flavor text for the most part, no mechanical. and there are conflicting LAs, not sure what's up. +4 across the board, yes? no HD worries, right? i've been gonig on the tail end of FRCS's sample shade but i'm not 100% as none of the books/designers seem to agree on what's up. |
| steventirey198510-17-07, 12:45 PM | Races of Faerun isn't all historical and/or flavor text, it also contains the mechanincs for many of the races in the book. The only ones it leaves out are the ones already detailed in the FRCS. I did some comparing between the shade in the FRCS and Races of Faerun, and aside from the differing level adjustments, their the same. And yes, since Races is more recent, the level adjsutment listed there (+4) is the one to use. |
