| HaroldTheBarrel09-02-07, 02:43 AM | hi, I am trying to create a shadow flavoured template, and I've run into some problems. I have been through various created templates, like dark creature(from ToM) shadow creature(LoM), many PrCs and even Shadow Hand maneuvers from ToB. If I had to create only one template, it would be easy, but as I'll be applying it to my whole party(through a kind of ritual), I want them to be able to customize. the idea with which I've been playing around is, that I give them a list of abilities which they can choose from, and some "points" which they can buy different abilities with. This I think, makes it more fun for them, but also makes it more difficult for me. lets say, they get 20 points, and the abilities which to choose from would be: darkvision LL vision scent skill bonuses(mostly hide, MS) speed bonus blindsense blindsight(drastically less range for same amount of points than blindsense) ability bonuses(mostly dex, str, con,wis init bonus Hide in Plain Sight some sort of shadow teleportation(shadow jump? shadow stride? something along the lines of swordsage maneuvers?) ok have any ideas which of these abilities are more powerful/useful than others? my party consists of Druid, Ranger, Monk, Wizard, Fighter, Dragon Shaman. So, any ideas, suggestions, references? all help and inspiration will be appreciated. |
