| StoneSinger04-02-08, 07:48 PM | In my campaigns the default for my Drow are as follows: -Jet Black Skin -Stark White Hair -Between 4 1/2 and 5 feet tall -Matriarchal, subserviant to Lloth. Now, there are a lot of classes that would connect a Drow directly to Lloth. Examples being cleric, favored soul, warlock (if a pact with her was made), any form of Spider mounted knight, etc... Now with that overall connection, I find it reasonable that over time her favored would begin to take on spider-like characteristics. My only problem is I can not quite think of a way to design this without making them either unnoticeable quirks, or too much. So I ask you. All opinions are welcome. |

| StoneSinger04-02-08, 09:51 PM | I was actually meaning more along the line of physical manifestations. Mechanics, along with a visual so to speak. |
| ciaran04-03-08, 09:25 AM | Lolth always struck me as a Neutral Evil kinda gal. Perhaps, but the goddess of eightfold duplicity values ambition over loyalty. |
| M-bark04-03-08, 12:00 PM | Well, none of the races I know of that primarily worship just one or maybe two deities start to exhibit certain qualities of their god. They have (prestige) classes for that. Check out the Fang of Lolth, I say: http://drowcampaign.roleplaynexus.com/prestigefangoflolth.html |
| StoneSinger04-03-08, 12:40 PM | Thanks, though after thinking it over I have realized they are spider-like enough. Dark, small, white hair like webs, deadly etc... Think I will stick with the normally spider-obsessed Drow. (though most in my campaigns are only 4 1/2 feet tall, do not think thats a norm) |

Think I will stick with the normally spider-obsessed Drow. (though most in my campaigns are only 4 1/2 feet tall, do not think thats a norm) You know, I've never thought about Drow that way. I always just thought of them as elves with inverted colours. :) (Then again, that came from the fact that I once created a character that was the total opposite of another colour-, personality- and tactics-wise, and she looked very much like a Drow. This even occurred before I had ever heard of DnD.) And if you still want more spiderlike Drow, then there's still that Fang of Lolth. ;) |
| StoneSinger04-03-08, 04:24 PM | Thanks for the help, but the fang of lloth kind of...scares me. I mean it is pretty out there on the other end of the spectrum. I think in Drow Of The Underdark there is a class called Fang Of Lloth, but it is completely differant than the one on the previous link sent to me. The one in the manuel seems to be more of a...male bodygaurd/obedient heretic-killer. I will probably end up going with fangs...maybe a few white hairs on the forearms or such. If anyone has any such suggestions im still open to ideas. |
| Hellsbells04-04-08, 10:59 PM | Ever notice how drow come in three types. 1) regular 2) extra-spidery 3) vampiric were the hell do they get so many vampires? Are they always of galazanting with them 24/7 or something? |
| Bloodsoul04-06-08, 04:21 PM | They must hang out at the same raves.. |
| Ecalsneerg04-07-08, 11:50 AM | They live underground in perpetual darkness, and have darkvision twice as good as a human-based vamp while still mortal. They make great vamps. |
