04-04-08, 01:46 AM Are there any Templates out there that dont add monster levels and are a +1 LA?

If so can someone please be kind and tell me and which book they are in.

Savage Species has lots of templates like that.

The "Dark" Template from Tome of Magic is pretty good for that. No dex boost but a number of other goodies, including Hide In Plain Sight, faster movement, and a big bonus to Hide and Move Silently. I believe there's a "Shadow" template that's also good for a higher LA, but I don't know the book for that one.

04-04-08, 03:07 PM check out the crsytal keep link so many people have posted on this forum, it contains lot of information on templates, many of which have a +0 or +1 LA.

I might remember incorrectly, but I think the 'necropolitan' template, from Libris Mortis, is a +0 LA.
-Incarnate construct (Savage Species) is actually -2 LA, and is applied to construct.
-Half-Ogre and Half-Minotaur are template introduced in Dragon Magazine (#313 I think) with a +1 LA. Feral (SS) is +1 LA.
-Draconic (Races of Dragon) +1 LA.

There are plenty of other. Check out the crystal keep page.

Oups, sorry, just read your other post (OP), and I see you want a DEX boost. Crystal keep can still help:)

04-05-08, 03:15 PM Another Vote for dark. ti's lets you use your skirmish more easily, and gets you out of harms way faster. it has the benifets that best match the Scout's strong points (fast movement, hide+move s., ect.)
Also, if you go ranger in addition or instead, this will make your character MORE scout-ish.
it's jsut great all around.
1 thing is... always have a scroll that allows your to travel the planes. i cant tell you how frustrating it is to be banished as a Dark creature. you get sent to the Shadow plane, where there aren't any cities (maybe 1 or 2) to go get a scroll. but, thats just one scenario.
Dark is THE way to go.

Catfolk is a +1 race that has some good stats if your lookin for a race instead. +4 dex, 40ft move speed, and a feat called Catfolk Pounce, which lets you make a full attack on a charge if the person is flat-footed. (if you go melee that is awesome)
