03-04-07, 06:37 AM Did anyone create a race for the Tengu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tengu) of japanese folklore? I was hoping for a La +0 race.

I tried a version myself:

Tengu Traits

*Dexterity +2, Constitution -2,
*Medium Humanoid (Tengu)
*Speed 30ft
*Bravery: +4 racial bonus on saving throws against fear. They are a very brave.
*Trickery: +2 on Bluff checks
*Weapon use: Tengu may treat a Wakizashi as a Simple weapon and not as an Martial weapon.
*Languages: Common, Tengu,
*Bonus Languages: Elven, Gnome, Thri-Kreen, Dwarven, Githyanki, Gythzerai, Draconic
*Favored Class: Roque
*Lv.ad: +0

Oriental Adventures (3rd edition), had a Tengu.

I don't have MMII (or III, forgot which one) so I do not know what the Kenku are exactly, but if I rember correctly they had some sound mimicing powers. This race is only based on the real Tengu from folklore and hopefully more realistic that the kenku.

I do know about the Tengu from Oriental Adventures, but that one has racial HD and isn't a LA 0 (if I am correctly, don't have the book at this moment) With this race I hope to make them more PC friendly.

03-04-07, 03:21 PM I was under the impression that the folklore tengu could fly, so a fly speed, or if not, a glide or slowfall ability might not be too far-fetched.
