The Drakari were one a proun and vibrant culture, but that was taken from them. They built their city to the north in the mountains, the had great magnificent cities that were carved out of the very stone. They produced the worlds greatest wizards, but their greatest achievment were the Scarlet Guard. This Guard were their elite fighting team, and they showed it. The warriors of the Guard tapped and harnessed the power to the point where they could literally become a dragon. These warriors gave these people the name Drakari which litterally means 'dragon tamer. But as their power grew so did their greed. As the years passed the Guard launched a rebellion and slew the king but as the act was completeda terrible magic was unleashed that tore the city assunder and all the Scarlet died. Hundreds of years later the Drakari had built a new society one that was based off war. This new society valued combat skill in the woods and they produced some of the greatest warriors in all the world, and even though their tribes only consisted of 100 members they could fend off most attacks. sorry about the length * a new weapon presented at the bottom of the page Apearances Drakari are heavy built but range from about 4'10"-5'8" in height. The males typically weigh somewhere inbetween 130 lbs. and 150 lbs., while the females wheigh in at 92-120 lbs. and are of a lighter build. Most Drakari Have dark hair and skin though blond isn't uncommon. They prefer dark or green loose clothes that allow them to move freely and stealthily among the mountains of their home. relations Drakari get along fairly well with elves and superbly with dwarves. Elves because the love the wild, and dwarves because they share a common talent in working with stone. Humans and halflings they find to carefree. gnomes they get along with, but not to well. Alignment They favor the lawfull alignment and follow all the rules so that another cataclism cant happen. They prefer Neutal to good because of their outlook on combat, and Evil is out of the question. Religion Most Drakari either take after their forefathers and worship the gods of good dragons or the worship corellon larathien. It is not unlikely for someone to worship a dwarven god. Racial Traits -+2 Dexterity, -2 cha. They're quick with thier arms because they have to be, but they are kinda reclusive. -As Medium creatures they have no penalties associated with their size -Base speed is 30 feet -+2 against saves to resist fear efects. The horrors of the cataclism made them hard and reserved. -+2 to resist the effects of a dragons frightfull presence ability. this ability stacks with the other one. -+2 bonus to survival and balance checks. In their home they are frequently harrased by earthquakes and avalanches. -All Drakari gain proficiency with scimitar and Kukri as they are the nations favored weapons -favored class: Ranger |
| Lawlicron08-12-07, 02:05 AM | Right off the bat I see they need an LA. But otherwise its alright. You might want to remove one of their racial bonuses and call it a day or stack on some more abilities and call it LA +1. Maybe make them immune to fear effects to get to the LA+1. |
| ShadowSpartan08-12-07, 07:59 AM | so, give them an LA of 1 and give them imunity to fear effects? |
| Lawlicron08-12-07, 08:08 PM | Its either give them a few more abilities and increase them to LA +1 or remove some abilities and keep them LA+0. |
| ShadowSpartan08-13-07, 08:11 PM | what could i get rid of? |
| Lawlicron08-13-07, 10:44 PM | You can do one of two things: A: Give them LA+1 and immunity to fear effects. B: Rework the stat adjustments. Maybe something like +2 Dex -2 Int/Wis and keep them LA+0. I honestly never feel it justified to give a race a negative to Charisma to 'balance' it. Although maybe in this case its ok, because they do seem stuck up like elves and reclusive like dwarves. Another note, making a scimitar with the exact same stats only making it exotic (and giving this race familiarity with it) and able to be used with two weapon fighting is cheap. I know you really want to make an entire race that can be Drizz't clones but please reframe from doing so. They can deal with taking levels in dervish or getting over-sized two weapon fighting. |
| ShadowSpartan08-14-07, 10:00 PM | actually, when i created i was thinking nothing about Drizzt, but now that you mention it it does seem a bit like them... ok, ill get rid of the sword and take out the stamina boost |

But you could still give the race weapon familiarity with the scimitar, falchion, or kukri. I think all of those would still be in flavor. Maybe two of them even. I'm quite confident the race will still be balanced with some familiarities. |

But you could still give the race weapon familiarity with the scimitar, falchion, or kukri. I think all of those would still be in flavor. Maybe two of them even.
