I posted these before, but have subjected them to massive editing, and now can't find the old thread to update and bump.

Name: The Glimmering
Race Type: Outsider
Description: The Glimmering

They are called the Glimmering and the birth of one brings grief, for it means that the life of a friend remains lost for all time. Taking the form of the one their creators meant to restore to life, they are meant to be the path between soul and flesh, allowing return to the material plane. When the body is destroyed during this ritual, if the resurrection is not a true resurrection, this path having lost its material anchor rebounds to the plane with the soul being resurrected, and is inaccessible. Far more rarely and tragically will the soul being resurrected be destroyed, causing even the path of a True Resurrection to rebound toward its fleshly anchor on the material plane…
When the path rebounds to the material plane it concentrates in the shape of its material anchor; but the substance of the path is its magic, partly pure from its holiness and partly scarred from the destruction of its soul anchor. The path becomes a new being, for by being concentrated in this way awakens a mind and soul.

The Glimmering have brilliantly white skin and hair that sparkle slightly, hence their name. Their eyes look like the diamonds used as a material component of the resurrection spell, and the same for their nails/claws. Other than that they look like the base race. The glimmering are born as adults and neither age nor die of old age.

Born adults into grief caused by their failure, the Glimmering are prone to depression if they remain where they are, for they are forever a living reminder of loss. A happy Glimmer is one away from his creator, proving to himself that he is as real as any other. Adventuring is quite appealing for these.

Thank you. Any particular reason you think they should get a dex bonus, or just a feeling?

I agree with the Dex bonus because most races with penalties to strength/constitution have high dexterity. Good idea though:D

Could I do that and keep 'em LA+!, or do they need to be LA+2 anyway for outsider type (or somesuch) and that would fit the power level better?
