You need a tail sweep attack as a prerequisite for the feat. Unless house-ruled, tiefling tail is a non-prehensile decoration (i.e. it does not provide for any benefits, other than having a tail).

You could modify the Dragon Tail feat from Races of the Dragon, which can be taken by creatures with the dragonblood subtype. It still gives you just the ordinary tail attack, not the tail sweep attack (tail sweep is described on pages 68 and 69 of the Monster Manual, as well as in the True Dragon (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/dragonTrue.htm) entry in the SRD (www.d20srd.org)).

Tail Sweep (Ex)
This special attack allows a dragon of at least Gargantuan size to sweep with its tail as a standard action. The sweep affects a half-circle with a radius of 30 feet (or 40 feet for a Colossal dragon), extending from an intersection on the edge of the dragon’s space in any direction. Creatures within the swept area are affected if they are four or more size categories smaller than the dragon. A tail sweep automatically deals the indicated damage plus 1½ times the dragon’s Strength bonus (round down). Affected creatures can attempt Reflex saves to take half damage (DC equal to that of the dragon’s breath weapon).

05-21-07, 04:47 PM Probably not in my opinion, in my campaigns they actually don't have tails, just the minor horns, but thats just me

05-21-07, 06:28 PM Tieflings may have tails, claws, wings, horns, hooves, scales, etc. depending on the type of fiendish ancestor they have. However, mechanically, those things are all the same. A tiefling whose great-grandfather was a ice devil may have a scaly blueish skin, large black eyes, and a reptilian tail, but that won't change anything to his natural armor, spor checks, or give him an extra attack. Rules-wise, it's no more relevant than deciding the height, weight, and sex of a human character.
