Tiefling subtype of what? [Archive] - Wizards Community

Humans have a strange ability and (apparent) inclination to... fornicate... with strange things. Half-elves aren't half gnome or half halfling, etc.

04-30-07, 07:38 PM Both aasimars and tieflings are "subtypes" of "planetouched". Both are native outsiders. Tieflings are humans with a little fiendish blood in their ancestry. Aasimars are humans with a little celestial blood in their ancestry. There are other planetouched races too (which I assume the DM must invent), but aasimars and tieflings are the most common.

Essentially planetouched are human with just a little planar ancestry. Less than half but enough to count. Less than planetouched would be full humans with racial heritage feats.
