I'm looking for a race that's small enough to fit in a pocket, but also capable of flying. I found Petal in MM3 which looks awesome for what I want to do, but was curious if there was anything else out there similar. I'd prefer to go with something that doesn't have a level adjustment.

First

Your not going to find any race that can fly with a LA below 2.
Heck, you probably cant find a Tiny sized race with a LA of 1.

Petal is probably your best bet.
There cool anyways.

Can't remeber what the ECL price tag for a pixie is, but they also come with improved invisibility.

Well I was playing off the top of my head.
But I was right about the size and LA

I also should have mentioned I already looked at Pixie and another related race (forgot the name at the moment) and neither worked for me.

The Shimmerling is also in MM3. It's fine-sized, 4 inches tall, weighs an ounce, and has perfect flight.

No worries, that's why the online 3.5 SRD is soooo helpful :)

A Dragonwrought Kobold under the effects of Alter Self can take the shape of a Tiny dragon.

I'd say though you could create such a character, LA doesn't really have an impact, because you can't do anything. Combat is out because you can't do damage, and even lockpicking or disabling traps won't work, because you're unable to use move any parts of a lock or trap. You can fly, watch, listen and cast spells, but that about is it.

I've created a race that is similar in size and flying capability to the shimmerling, but that also has greater invisibility. It does a lot in combat as a rogue, via sneak attack. It takes a -2 on Disable Device and Open Lock since thieves' picks are too big, but that's more than offset by its high DEX (assuming the player takes the Tactile Trapsmith feat).

Which is exactly what this is supposed to be about. Think Tinkerbelle, but as a badass mage.
