| beenyboboo09-08-07, 08:56 PM | do any of yall know any cool undead templates. it does not matter what class im just looking for some thanks |
| Hellsbells09-08-07, 09:12 PM | The inteligent skeleten, the inteligent zombie (sorry cant remember their names). If you want something just unusual play a vampire. But play it nature style, upplay its feral nature, have it be a romp with the wolves under the full moon kind of creature, the terror that lurks at nightfall for the poor peasents caught outside, etc. Or a vampire applied to something that is a little to good at biting, like lets say, an anthropomorphic shark or crocodile. |
| j3st3r09-08-07, 09:29 PM | Lots of interesting undead templates in Libris Mortis (gravetouched ghoul, half-vampire, hooded pupil, mummified, necropolitan). There's also Swordwraith in Fiend Folio (updated version here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/re/20040202a) |
| Omega_Grey09-08-07, 11:43 PM | Bone creature and Corpse creature are the intelligent zombie and skeletons, both are in the Book of Vile Darkness. Other then those already presented I suggest Dread Warrior and the Juju Zombie found in Unapproachable East and the Curst found in Monster of Faerun (updated in one of the other books, but I cant remember for the life of me which one, sorry). Also we have the Death Knight in Monster Manual 2 for some BBEG fun. And the ever popular Lich in MM1. Also, I very much second the idea of a Gravetouched Ghoul. (Though I dont think Half-Vampire and Hooded Pupil count since they are technically not undead) |
| Ariath Ska'Vhor09-09-07, 06:48 AM | My favorite undead templates most deffinetly are Gravetouched Ghoul and Necropolitan. I also like the Half-vampire template as much as these two, but it's not undead at all... Which I also like about it. |
| Hellsbells09-09-07, 10:56 AM | O come on, am I (and dragninja who gave me the idea) the only ones who see the awesomeness of a shark trying to be a vampire. It would rip out there throat and probably most of their head when it tried to bite them. |
| taradusis09-09-07, 11:02 AM | I think that a vampire is supposed to drain blood. If all you want is a big bite why not a zombie T.rex with the Swallow Whole feat? |
| Hellsbells09-09-07, 11:30 AM | No (no one understands me) Think about it, anthropomorphic or were shark. Vampire. How does it drain blood, it bites. If the shark bites *rip* their goes the neck, the jugular, probably the head. It then can drain the blood out from the large hole it just made. I dont think it sais anywhere how it has to get the blood, just that it needs it, it could lick it up from a puddle or drink it from a goblet it it wanted. |
| taradusis09-09-07, 12:50 PM | Creatures that drink blood tend not to waste a drop, think mosquito or vampiric ixitichil. An underwater attacker who caused a gapimg wound might lose a lot of blood as it diffused into the water? As a side thought multiple mouthes like a Gibbering Mouther has might make a more efficient vampire?RANDOM THOUGHTS |
| Hellsbells09-09-07, 01:05 PM | O that reminds me, does a wereshark breath air, water, or either/both? What bout anthropo and awakened? ANd I never said it was in the water. |
| Hellsbells09-09-07, 08:36 PM | O and one other thing, is their a template anywere for making zombies and skeletons, the one from monster manual isn't technically a template and isn't very versatile. Or should I just use the bone and corpse creatures mentioned above except uninteligent. P.S. I don't have the book the two are from |
| Omega_Grey09-10-07, 02:09 AM | I cant help you with not having the book. But if the templates in the Monster Manual dont work for you then go ahead and alter them until they do or use the bone and corpse creature templates and drop the Int. May I ask why the standard template doesnt work for you? |
| Hellsbells09-10-07, 05:17 PM | Because its not a template, it gives a way to make humanoid skeletons/zombies, but has no information on non-humanoid ones and has no way for the creature to retain any sign of what it was in life. A troll and a hill giant look no different according to it. ANd to clarify I ment I dont have (i think its) book of vile darkness, I do have MM. |
| Geezer09-10-07, 09:02 PM | knock yourself out: http://www.crystalkeep.com/d20/rules/DnD3.5Index-Templates.pdf Pages 21-40 should suit your needs quite nicely |
| Hellsbells09-10-07, 09:28 PM | thank you. this is actually incredibly useful. |
| Templario09-10-07, 09:29 PM | O come on, am I (and dragninja who gave me the idea) the only ones who see the awesomeness of a shark trying to be a vampire.
