Skill checks that involve a non-ability (one marked with a "-") have a +0 modifier (as if it was 10 or 11, but with a few extra traits for other purposes).

"Vampire" is a +8LA template from the Monster Manual. Two lower LA choices are the vampire spawn (4 racial hit dice, +4LA, LA listed in Libris Mortis) and the half vampire template (+2LA, also from Libris Mortis). There is an 8 level vampire spawn racial class in Libris Mortis, too.

yeah uhh kinda new to dnd (just know the basics) so first off any check with con is 0 so i will always fail or +0 so i just roll the die and dont add n e thing second can you explain the quote in uhh simpler terms (sorry) and what is LA

The con modifier applied to the check doesn't add or subtract from the role. Most creatures have their skill and save modifiers listed in the monster manual for convienience.

err wow i feel like the biggest newb right now but i think i got it you get a +0 (note the plus) to skills that require con and you get a plus 8 misc modifer to other skills such as bluff is that what you were saying

1. Vamp is a template not race or class. Although there is a vampire spawm monster class in LM.

The attacks you asked about are special attacks not feats. There are feats in LM for them too.

please don't mulit-post, people will get to u eventually.

LM= Libris Mortis, an undead splat book

blood drain is clear enough.
Blood Drain (Ex)
A vampire can suck blood from a living victim with its fangs by making a successful grapple check. If it pins the foe, it drains blood, dealing 1d4 points of Constitution drain each round the pin is maintained. On each such successful attack, the vampire gains 5 temporary hit points.

a vampires slam attack has an energy draining effect, see below.

LA is level adjustment, you add it to you level to determine experience and challenges.
A vampire fighter 10 is treated as a character of the 18th level.

In the back of 3.5 MM is a list of attacks like energy and blood drain tha should help. Also if you look on down or the next page there should be a place that says Player character and it tells about the Attacks there too.

I don't mind helping anyone so don't worry. Some people can be mean on here so be careful.

LA is Level adjustment and it means that you add that into you Hit die/class levels and that = what level character it will be. You also don't gain HD for you LA.

There are some download in wizards. Just search for SRD and it should pop up. If you have a DM he should let you see his copy.

Energy drain drains the life force off some body. AKA character levels which cause you to loss 5 hp and all abilities from that level. Also the vamp only get 5hp for each level double on crit.

Blood Drain can only be done with a grapple check and drains con of you.
