10-19-07, 12:21 AM I'm not sure if anyone even *knows* about them, much less uses them - they are an evil race of humans (like drow are to elves), but without any capability of learning/comprehending love, kindness, or basically showing any sign of humanity.

Which, I don't know why, I've come to love. It's not easy playing a character that is just so innately evil as to never quite fit in (should he/she have to).

Besides that, I wanted an opinion. In the Book of Vile Darkness it says that Vashar were the first humans, and when they were destroyed by their original makers, some evil entity brought the pieces to the highest plateau and remade this human - who was in all respects as evil as the demon himself, only mortal.

So, what kind of area do you think the plateau would be in? I'm making a huge campaign of this, so I'm workin' really hard on this. So far I've decided it's in some remote desert, probably once something furtile but corrupted by the growth of the Vasharan city atop the plateau.

My problem was: Should it be dark all the time, even if it's a desert? Just because of the evil emanating from the plateau - should it be hot all the time, or should I make the plateau so high up that it's engulfed in dark clouds or above them? I'm not sure if that defeats the purpose of a plateau, but it seems to me that the demon wanted them to be isolated for a time - so that the 'gods' that created humans wouldn't find the failed abominations thriving atop this flattened earth.

Ideas? Maybe even your own Vashar concepts? I never see *anything* online about them, and they should get a little more publicity, methinks.

10-19-07, 03:48 PM Being the original human race I would think they live in a heavily tribal society in a plateau in the center of the jungle. So it would be hot and humid and a constant struggle to be the strongest creature. Which I think suits the Vashar well in my opinion.
