| TevolRia06-13-07, 01:08 PM | yeah so I got Magic of Incarnum the other day and in the first few pages thuoght that there could be no better book. I know that it isn't true, but that was my feeling. So then I thought, "hey they should make a Races of Incarnum!" but thats unlikely to happen. so I turn to all of you at the D&D boards for help and advice! |
| sword_war44406-13-07, 01:32 PM | Ok here is just a list of idea for incraun races. Forgten soul: They are esstenia. Sometimes when a powerful user of incarnum dies there esstenia does not. It travles just wanders. How ever at time it may give birth to it's self. When it does it creaes a new humaniod. They look like a standard human (or what ever race the esstenia came from but are always medium and have regluar limbs and such). There very body is incaurm. As for like days in a life type of stuff I will think about it and possibly post back If i like my ideas. |
| TevolRia06-13-07, 02:06 PM | I like the notion. would it be undead or an abberation or what? so lets see, we need to further detail the already existing Incarnum-based races. should probably stat out the Mishtai. some new feats, many of which should probably be racial feats. there is already some racial substitution levels, but more couldn't hurt. should maybe include something like a necrocarnum lich. some new spell, powers, soulmelds, equipment, etc. |
| TevolRia06-13-07, 03:49 PM | here is a little input from me. Skarn climber you learn to better use your spines for climbing. prerequisits: skarn, 6 ranks in Climb benifit: gain climb speed equal to half (full?) land speed. |
| TevolRia06-14-07, 10:01 AM | Rilkan diplomat prerequisits: rilkan, bluff 9 ranks, diplomacy 9 ranks benifit: can take 10 on diplomacy (and bluff?) checks not sure if I should raise prerequisits or not. I mean those skill aren't used all to often. |
| bahamut92006-14-07, 06:35 PM | not sure if I should raise prerequisits or not. I mean those skill aren't used all to often. I disagree. We use them all the time in the campaigns I'm in, and they aren't even diplomacy-styled campaigns. However, the prerequisites should probably be raised somewhat, because the benefit is pretty good. |
| TevolRia06-17-07, 08:01 PM | :bump: |
| TevolRia06-18-07, 10:27 AM | ayuzan eyesight (don't have book in front of me so I probably got the name wrong) prerequisits: ayuzan benifit: +2 on spot and search checks. low-light vision. if a soulmeld is bound to the brow chakra, the bonus increases to +4 and recieves the benifit of darkvision. sorry again for bad spelling or errors. |
| bahamut92006-18-07, 01:09 PM | Are you referring to the azurin, the human-like race with incarnum powers? Also, I think that a feat that gives low-light vision (and eventually darkvision) is a bit powerful, especially because the only prerequisites are racial. I suggest either of two options: Azurin Eyesight [Incarnum] Using incarnum, you have developed unnaturally keen eyesight for your race. Prerequisites: Azurin, 1 point of essentia. Benefit: You may invest 1 point of essentia to this feat to gain a +2 enhancement bonus to Spot and Search checks. Investing additional essentia increases the bonus to Spot and Search checks by +2 per point invested, to a maximum of +6. You may also invest essentia in this feat to reduce your need for light; two points of essentia grants low-light vision, and four grants darkvision out to 30 feet, with an increase of 10 feet per additional point of essentia invested. This invested essentia does not grant a bonus to Spot and Search checks. Once invested, the amount of essentia invested in this feat is set and may not be changed for 24 hours. You gain 1 point of essentia. Or maybe it could work like this: Azurin Eyesight You use your meldshaping to enhance your sight. Prerequisites: Azurin, meldshaper level 1st. Benefit: As long as you have a soulmeld shaped to your brow chakra, you gain a +2 enhancement bonus to Spot and Search checks and low-light vision. If you bind a soulmeld to your brow chakra, increase the bonus to Spot and Search checks to +4, and gain darkvision out to 30 feet. If you invest essentia in this feat, the range of your darkvision increases by 10 feet per point of essentia invested. Essentia invested in this feat remains invested for 24 hours or until the relevant soulmeld is unshaped. |
