Warcraft Naga [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-11-07, 11:13 PM Are there any playable races similar to the Naga from World of Warcraft? I've been wanting to play a character with a snakes lower body but can't find a suitable race, the Yuan-ti halfbloos and abominations don't give player stats (I know how to convert a PC out of things like that but my DM is new, I'd rather have something a bit more official).

04-12-07, 01:07 AM There's a naga race in Oriental Adventures that might fit what you want.

Their top halves are more human-like than from Warcraft, but you might be able to add some lizard-like template or something of that nature.

04-12-07, 01:23 AM There's a series of d20 books for World of Warcraft. I haven't read them, but I'm sure player stats for the Naga are to be found in either the Campaign Setting or one of the supplements.

Oh there are, I was just curious about a D&D version of them, from experience the WoW d20 is a bit overwhelming for baisic D&D (Hell jungle trolls are +1 LA and get +4 to two stats (-2 to two as well), darkvision, fast healing 1, and a racial boost to hide in jungles. But on second glance, that might not be so bad.

Gee, I thought it was pretty self-explanatory.

Okay, scroll down to the Monstrous Humanoid entry. The abilities I think you'll be interested in are Quadruped (actually just Large (long), it's only called that because of centaurs), Aquatic, and Brutal. Not necessarily in that order, of course. If you want a poisonous attack, you could probably work out a custom modification to Brutal.

04-13-07, 02:21 AM The Shinomen Naga from Oriental Adventures seems your best bet. You could add templates from Savage Species such as Reptilian, or some of the Yuan-ti ones. Otherwise, take a look at serpent kingdoms from Forgotten Realms.

Edit: Savage species also has rules for playing Anthropamorphic Snakes such as cobras and constrictors

The WoW d20 is actually the next version of a plain Warcraft d20 setting, that used normal DnD stats instead of changing the names to fit the MMO. The races are a little more powerful, but nowhere near as bad as the feats, and naga were some of the least powerful for their LA.
