Warforged / Flesh Golem? [Archive] - Wizards Community

Would it be possible to create a warforged from the same process that create a Flesh Golem? What would be the properties?

06-07-07, 11:47 AM There are sentient, humanoid-shaped creatures made of flesh and blood that have many of the same properties as warforged, such as constitution scores, free wills, etc, but are made of flesh, bone, and the like rather than livewood, metal, and such. Flesh-bodied warforged are generally created in special environments within the bodies of other flesh-bodied warforged over the course of about nine-months. This is somewhat like a Cannith creation forge, but smaller, more mobile, more widespread, and less productive in terms of quantity of flesh-bodied warforged produced.

Generally, the flesh-bodied warforged are not produced at full size and with adequate information, as normal warforged are, but are rather born very small, weak, and ignorant. Generally, the increase in size over time by assimilating organic material, a change far more dramatic but also more predetermined than the changes traditional warforged undergo, such as growing spikes as juggernauts or developing silver tracery. A twenty-fold increase in size from the completion of the initial creation and the flesh-warforged's full size is not uncommon. To give the new flesh-bodied warforged the information it needs, they must be taught, partially by the one bearing the biological creation forge, frequently partly by her associate who may have contributed some aspects to the new warforged's design, partly through the new flesh-bodied warforged's unassisted observations, and partly by other flesh-bodied warforged specialized in training newly-forged flesh-bodied warforged, known as "teachers."

Like their livewood counterparts, the flesh-bodied warforged come in a variety of sizes, ranging from the size of a warforged scout to the size of a charger.

Okay, just kidding.

Anyway, normal, Cannith-created warforged probably couldn't do this, because the Canniths don't really understand the forging process. I could see the Karrnathis and Canniths creating some kind of "Karrnathi Necroforged" type being, a mix of Karrnathi undead and warforged bits. As far as the "sentient equivalent of a flesh golem" idea, though, I tried to come up with a Shelley Frankenstein monster-type race, the assembled. 06-07-07, 05:38 PM On the basis that one of my ex girlfriends can only be descibed as a "flesh golem", I feel qualified to answer the "Why?" question.

A) The Slavery Reinstated Factor: A Flesh Golem will do your laundry, clean your house, make you breakfast, all without question. A Flesh Golem does not realize that these things are generally considered "fringe benefits", but simply considers them under the How The World Works category.

B) The All Profit and No Investment Factor: The Flesh Golem does not require maintenance, like a child, family pet, or legitimate girlfriend would. For example, you do not need to waste time watching Julia Roberts movies, cuddling post-coitus, or meeting her parents.

I saw a post on another board (I think it's in Monster's Lair) about someone who wanted to play an awakened Flesh Golem. That made me think, if he wanted to play an awakened Iron Golem, we could have suggested him to play a warforged (or a warforged charger, if he wanted to be big & strong). With the ton of feats changing a warforged body (you could even be made of wood for a druid, or crystal for a psion!), we could probably cook something for every kind of golem. So, what about a warforged/flesh golem? That is why I got the idea.

Now why would a warforged want to be made of flesh? Well, JulesCARV had a pretty good idea: they would mimic life even more closely, even reproducing themselves!

I haven't thought about game advantages of doing that. It could be treated as a Feat, like Ironwood body; perhaps could it give a Natural Armor bonus, and the ability to wear a true armor?

06-08-07, 11:27 AM a dead mass of flesh stitched together from various parts from different bodies and then magically animated (at which point some spirit/elemental inhabites it i believe) is then awakened? The body parts dont even work together (flowing blood, nerves connected) so I'm not sure how it could become a living creature but even if it did there is no way it could reproduce! Imagine the DNA mess that the children would become!

When I talked about flesh-bodied warforged reproducing, I was actually referring to humanoids. The idea is tha a warforged already has most of the features of humanoids, such as being alive, intelligent, and the like, and the main difference between them and humanoids is the materials they're made out of. A warforged is basically a humanoid built of livewood and metal, so a warforged built of flesh would basically be a humanoid.

While what you say is true, what's to say that it has to be a Cannith who built a fleshforged? Magic of Eberron states that Cannith claims to have never made any Psiforged. So, either someone else created the Psiforged, which means that others could produce 'forged. OTOH, if they're lying, then they could definately make a fleshforged if they can produce psiforged. :D

I hope that makes sense...lol

I want to play a fleshforged now!
