| LordBOB77701-13-08, 12:00 AM | Forgive me if these few questions have been asked before. My search-fu is weak. 1. I see that Warforged have the Living Contstruct Subtype. Are the also considered to be Humanoid? 2. Depending on the answer to number 1, could templates, such a Feral (Savage Species) be applied to a Warforged? 3. Warforged Juggernaut's get, at level 3, Healing Immunity. In a nut shell, Juggernauts are immune to spells of the Healing Subschool. Does Fast Healing work? My thoughts are yeah, but ive been wrong before. If something isnt clear ill reword it. Thanks In Advance |
| runestar01-13-08, 12:05 AM | 1) No, they are still constructs, and interact with spells as such (such as alter self, polymorph, bane etc) 2) What is the requirement for the feral template? If it specifies humanoid, then no. If any living creature, then yes. 3) If the fast healing comes from a spell of the healing subschool, then no benefit. If some other source, then yes, assuming that healing immunity does not automatically bar the use of fast healing as well.:) |
| TifRhal01-13-08, 12:09 AM | if i rember right there is a material call living metal it regens damge and s a natural source not from the healing domain . it is metal gathered from a druids grove i dont see why you could not have some of this graphed on or use in the construction of the warforge. |
| LordBOB77701-13-08, 12:15 AM | The Feral Template requires any corpoeal humanoid or monstrous humanoid. So i guess Warforged wont work. On a side note, which, if any, templates would/could a Warforged benefit from? |
| runestar01-13-08, 12:33 AM | Dragonborn is the most obvious one, since it works on any living creature, and has a number of boons (most notable is auto-removal of composite armour, which benefits the wizard without having to waste a feat, while retaining your warforged immunities). Plus, it is wasted anyways if you are going to take adamantine or mithral body. Basically, they lose virtually nothing, while nabbing all the advantages of the dragonborn template. Fiendish/celestial template, half-dragon/celestial/fiend are all valid choices as well (though you might find yourself hard-pressed to justify them from a rp point of view).:) |
| Saiyamantis01-13-08, 02:43 AM | As their subtype implies, warforged are considered to be both living creatures and constructs. As long as the list of creatures eligible for a template includes one of those categories, the warforged is eligible. Since warforged are made and not born, they can't gain inherited templates the usual way. They couldgain such a template, however, by performing one of the rituals described in Savage Species. If your DM is willing, you might even be able to start with an inherited template by claiming a ritual was performed on him during his creation. |
| Naderion01-13-08, 03:26 AM | Celestial and Fiendish would work for warforged. They would simply be custom constructions that made use of extraplanar magic. But what about undead? Zombie would likely not work, but skeleton should. Vampires have this blood thing, so they would be out too, but everything incorporeal (shadows, wraiths, ghosts) shouldn't be a problem. |
| Xiuhcoatl01-13-08, 08:50 AM | Half-Dragon is easy to justify: some "donated" dragon's blood was inserted into a Creation Forge as an experiment. |
| Saiyamantis01-13-08, 06:02 PM | As far as I know, there are no undead template for which a warforged qualifies. All of the templates I've seen either have a list of specific types that are eligible (none of which include constructs), or are available to any living creature with a skeletal structure (which warforged don't have according to the designers). |

What, exoskeletons don't count? The Draconic template (Draconomicon), Half-Fey template (Fiend Folio), and Phrenic template (Expanded Psionics) are all also viable options. |
| Silverthumb01-14-08, 09:19 AM | Half-Dragon is easy to justify: some "donated" dragon's blood was inserted into a Creation Forge as an experiment. Or, just as easily: The spirit bound to the Warforged body was the soul of a dragon, and after its creation, a ritual was performed to restore a small amount of its power into its new body. |

| dragonseth01-16-08, 07:01 PM | As for undead Warforged, I know I remember someone making a 'Deathforged' or something similar around here once. |
| deathbane01-16-08, 10:15 PM | Deathforged is not a statted Prc or template. In one of the book it mentions warforged were sited that run off of negative energy. It is a possible DM plot device, such as what really happened to Cyre, or what is the Draconic Prophecy for example. |
| dragonseth01-16-08, 11:01 PM | Found it. (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=920408) |
| Sinfire Titan01-17-08, 12:16 AM | As for undead Warforged, I know I remember someone making a 'Deathforged' or something similar around here once. It is called the Death Master 20th level ability. They become Liches, even though they are Constructs! |
