| Lafarallin05-22-07, 10:36 AM | I'm playing a warforged for the first time. I took sculpting originally just to repair myself. However, I started toying with the idea of altering my body. I would like to add gems into my body much like tattoos. Basically chiseling patterns and designs and then setting stones directly into my composite plating. Are there any rules on making designs and alterations to your person as a warforged? Any rules at all covering this? Keep in mind I'm not talking about components because they aren't magical items. Would there be any reason I couldn't place objects in my body? As an added thought, could I place a spellshard in my forearm, and then mount it in my arm like setting a stone in a bracelet or ring? |

(such as a human getting a tat, isn't exactly covered by the rules, but clearly not game breaking either) However, attempting to somehow add a game mechanic, or alter a mechanic, should be covered under the appropriate rules. i.e. no good thing comes for free. |

I know I've had the DM determine the cost for different color hair dye for one of my characters... he was a naturally white hair gnome, and i dyed his hair purple... ohh yeah, fear this mo-fo's |

Basically this would let me look at my forearm to memorize spells. I have used sculpting to place a ruby pattern symbol of "The Becoming God" on my chest so far. Basically I had to have the gems cut by someone else.....and then sculpting to alter my body. (In ECS to create or alter a construct you use sculpting, i.e. homunculs like iron defender, etc...) Guess I'm just looking for other thoughts here. Thanks for the quick replies. |

Crafts have the same costs to create as magic items, but are non-magical in nature. They also require a feat to make them. The Crystalic crafts from Untapped Potential would be a good place to start. Though psionic in nature they can be changed to magical and have the crystal changed to metal and other materials related to warforged construction. |
