| Tsucasa_Quilia06-11-07, 12:15 AM | I need a little help here, i want to make a warforged with the half-dragon template, but in order for that to work, wouldn't i need to make the warforged an incarnate using the Incarnate Construct template from savage species? Reply please |
| runestar06-11-07, 12:20 AM | Just say that its half-dragon traits was the result of arcane experiments being carried out on it at the time of its construction by a mad wizard attempting to fuse draconic blood with his warforged servitors.:D |
| Johnny_Angel06-11-07, 12:31 AM | To answer your question - no. You may add the half-dragon template just fine. |
| celestialkin06-11-07, 02:10 AM | Just say that its half-dragon traits was the result of arcane experiments being carried out on it at the time of its construction by a mad wizard attempting to fuse draconic blood with his warforged servitors.:D I kinda like that, but it's a bit too messy and unnecessary in my opinion. I'd say keep him completely mechanical, and say that his mad creator constructed him to mimic the power and ferocity of dragons. Picture a warforged, which was created with shimmering dragon like wings, fierce claws, and the head of a true dragon sitting atop it's elongated neck. It's body could be covered in metallic "scales" (Adamantine Body), and it would spew forth an artificial "breath weapon" from deep within it's body (maybe a tank of ignitable gas for fire, a tank of liquid nitrogen for ice, a container of acid for acid, etc.). |
| Tsucasa_Quilia06-11-07, 02:43 AM | OK, ill call it dragon forged, making it a template that when this certain warforged walks out of the creation forge, it has certain physical and magical abilities, ill make it like a LA+5 or something, ill figure out the final details. thanks celestialkin |

Glad I could help. :) Just one question, why such a high LA? The Half-Dragon template seems to already be compatible with the Warforged race, so unless you're going to add a few things why increase the +3 LA? The Warforged does need to be of large size to get the wings, though. |
| runestar06-11-07, 03:49 AM | Whatever floats your boat.:) Though the warforged will become of the dragon type. How would this interact with its living construct subtype?:P |
| Engilbrand06-11-07, 06:59 AM | Technically, you could make him into a Dragonborn from Races of the Dragon first. Then, he's Humanoid with the Living Construct subtype. Half-dragon from there and he's pretty ridiculous. |
| snakeman83006-11-07, 09:25 AM | Ten levels of Dragon Disciple works. It also does the same to undead. It's an investment, to be sure, but you get the wings anyway (regardless of size), blindsense 60 feet, an energy immunity, some natural armor increases, good sized hit dice, good ability increases, a breath weapon and bonus spells for NO LA!!! The LA is subsumed in the levels. |
| Tsucasa_Quilia06-11-07, 12:48 PM | Because i'll add more AC because of the Adamantine Scales, and ill make the magic metal wings added to the body available to medium sized creatures. Andd ill give the template access to some draconic invocations, and the exanded chest cavity to hold the container for the breath attack will have the same properties as a bag of holding, greater. ~to celestialkin |
| Luis_Dragunov06-11-07, 03:52 PM | Don't give him wings! Aeronautics aside, especially considering the wingspan you'd need to lift the warforged without the elemental magic of true dragons, it'd be much cooler if you give him JETS. |
| TheAnthroDM06-11-07, 03:59 PM | It is perfectly legal to apply the Half-Dragon template to a Warforged. |
| Eshenaleros06-11-07, 04:08 PM | It is perfectly legal to apply the Half-Dragon template to a Warforged. well, that's the question. technically, other than the way everybody has described previous, you need someone to actually mate with a dragon to make a cross-breed, and warforged don't have gender. heck, they don't even have holes. |
| Luis_Dragunov06-11-07, 04:16 PM | well, that's the question. technically, other than the way everybody has described previous, you need someone to actually mate with a dragon to make a cross-breed, and warforged don't have gender. heck, they don't even have holes. I wonder if there were special orders of more functional warforged but I guess this is material for the Mature boards. |
| Banatine06-11-07, 04:20 PM | Since warforged are created, they can be built to whatever specifications that their commisioner deems apropriate. Therefore i see no reason why there could not be a 'dragonforged' or 'devilforged' or anything else. (please note i know very little about ebberon, so if what i'm thinking conflicts with the flavour of ebberon in any way, then i will shut up.) |
| obrysii06-11-07, 04:20 PM | Dragon genetic material spilling into the Creation Forge. There you go--Half Dragon (and Draconic) Warforged. |
| Johnny_Angel06-11-07, 04:20 PM | well, that's the question. technically, other than the way everybody has described previous, you need someone to actually mate with a dragon to make a cross-breed, and warforged don't have gender. heck, they don't even have holes. Any number of explanations could be used. There's the classic answer: Dragons are magic creatures and can mate with nearly anything. There's the more Eberron specific answer: The Warforged was crafted with special parts. There's the alternatie Eberron answer: The Warforged was magically infused with the essence of a dragon. I'm sure there are more, but those are the ones that come to mind right away. |
| SirGeshko06-11-07, 04:24 PM | well, that's the question. technically, other than the way everybody has described previous, you need someone to actually mate with a dragon to make a cross-breed, and warforged don't have gender. heck, they don't even have holes. I don't know why everyone assumes that the half-* templates involve mating. Yes, that's the simplest and most realistic explanation, but, let's not kid ourselves here, this is a world where dragons roam, where the illithids and beholderkin play, and one learn to summon down fire from the heavens and bend the fabric of reality to your will! If you have to mate with something to add a half-* template, show me the poor soul that mated with a fire elemental (Which also don't have parts, IIRC!), and I'll show you someone who's burned and dead. ^_^ |
| JulesCARV06-11-07, 09:01 PM | No, no. Half-dragon warforged aren't half-mundane dragon of the sort you can find in Argonessen. They're half-world dragon: as in, they're warforged infused with the essence of Syberis, the dragon who currently forms the ring. They're the result of a warforged being forged in a creation forge being operated by a particularly powerful Dragonmarked Cannith -- one with a Syberis dragonmark, perhaps, whose connection for the draconic prophecy is so strong that when he operates the creation forge, he is able to infuse the newly-made warforged with special powers and a connection with Syberis. |
| runestar06-11-07, 11:15 PM | Well, you can have half-dragon treants, swarms and oozes. Warforged shouldn't be that rude a shock...:P |
