Warforged are a PC race appearing and detailed in the Eberron Campaign setting.
They also appear in MM III I think, along with two other races with a similar background: the Warforged charger, and Warforged Scout.

You should also consult Races of Eberron for information on the Warforged.

A Warforged is a living construct, or a sentient machine. They have quite a few nice bonuses for being a living construct (e.g. Immune to Faituge, Poison, etc.). They also have only been around for abour 30 years (at least if you're in Eberron) and were created as a machine for war.

As a Warforged you would not have much emotion or understanding of the quirks and customs of humans and other races. You were designed as a weapon and to kill. You probably served in the Last War or were a guardian for someone.

The best places for more info on how to play one would be Races of Eberron, or the Eberron Campaign Setting.

Uh, I hate that interpretation of Warforged persona. They are fully capable of feeling emotion, hence the reason they can be affected by Morale Bonuses.

One of the nicer things about the race is that they are treated as constructs for the purposes of Alter Self, Polymorph, and similar spells. At 9th level, a Warforged Wizard can polymorph into an Iron Golem, and with the Assume Supernatural Ability feat from Savage Species, can gain their Cloud Kill breath weapon, and it's immunity to magic!!!!
