ciaran 02-23-08, 10:59 PM	The Half-Ogre (LA +2) is highly exploitable, and so are Goliath and Half-Giant (LA +1) for about the same reasons. Honestly, just about any race with bonuses to physical stats will do well.

Omnirahk, half-Rahkshi 02-23-08, 11:42 PM	what are the stats of a dragonborn? ........anything with dragon in it is BA lol It ought to be in the previews or excerpts for Races of the Dragon. Basically, it's a weird cross between a race and a template. They get +2 Con and -2 Dex and a choice of one of three aspects. They lose most, but not all, of their original racial abilities. For a warrior, go with the wings or mind aspect. Gliding and eventually flight could be useful. Or a bonus on some types of will saves is nice, considering a warrior's typical weakness. Also, certain vision-related abilities are also nice.
RobbyPants 02-24-08, 08:18 AM	Water orcs (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/races/elementalRacialVariants.htm#waterOrcs), for all the same reasons as orcs, plus they get a +2 Con bonus! All this for LA +0. The only downside is their save penalty against fire effects. Still, they get the natural swimmer ability, which can come in handy. I'll second goliaths, especially if you can buy off the level adjustment. Even if you can't, they get a lot for that +1 LA.

AtsuiShoto 02-24-08, 05:33 PM	Goliath barbarian (at least 1 level) to pick the racial substitution Mountain Rage. You get to be Large size, complete with Large weapons, 10' reach, -1 AC and attack, +4 on all sorts of fun checks and abilities, and qualification for feats and prestige classes. Best of all, you can become a War Hulk, but the horrendous skill penalties switch off when your rage ends. Very tidy.
Ace_of_time 02-24-08, 10:32 PM	Catfolks are not bad ether. +1 LA I think. But no minuses (+4 DEX and+2 con) and I think they get NA (+1) bonus to boot.
