Were-serpents Where? [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-21-07, 06:43 PM Hi. In what book would I find the best information for applying the were-serpent template to a monster or character? And if applied to a character how many levels does it eat up?

06-21-07, 06:48 PM I have the book and I see an example of one but it doesn't break it down as an overlay. (Unless I'm missing it.)

06-21-07, 06:54 PM You'd just use the standard lycanthrope template from the Monster Manual, choosing an appropriately-sized snake from the animal section.

06-21-07, 07:23 PM Yes. The template applies equally to all types of animals, including reptiles. Obviously it'll gain whatever qualities the snake has (poison bite or constrict, etc), but the other aspects of the template will remain the same.

It would appear the Wereserpent (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/sk_gallery/82339.jpg) has vestigial legs, scales with a more human-like flesh tone, no chin or neck and ears.

Wereserpents are in Serpent Kingdoms pg69 (but not the template)
Yuan-Ti Abominations (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/MM35_gallery/MM35_PG263.jpg) are in MM-3.5 p264
