ok for a 15th level campaign i am thinking of rolling a weretiger fight.

it has an LA of +3 (natural)

now the question is:

Is my racial HD already factored into this adjustment, (ie. lvl 12 fighter) or am i required to add the 6d8 to my effective LA?

thus allowing me to have only a 6th level fighter?

my ecl is 15, so am i a 6th lvl fighter or a 12th level fighter?

You have to add the racial HD in. To make an ECL of 15 (+3 LA +6 RHD +6 class levels). You get all of the feats listed for a were-tiger. You get to add the racial HD and the class levels to figure out when you get feats and ability score increases, that means you would get 3 feats and 3 ability score increases.

With a total of 12 hit dice (6 racial and 6 class levels) he'd have five feats (six if the base race was human) and three ability increases.

One thing to keep in mind with the lycanthrope template: You use your first class level as your first hit die, so the max HPs, x4 skill points, and so on applies to that, rather than to the first animal hit die. (Because unlike a base race, a template is applied post-base race rather than being the base race - you need to be a valid 1st level something before you can add a template.)

Yep. So make you first class level a scout level. Many skill points, and skirmish bonus on all your attacks when you pounce!

I also suggest a dip into barbarian.
