What exactly is a Halfling Rogue/Assassin? [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-31-07, 07:22 PM Hey everyone, I just started D&D with a few friends and we've been trying to create a character for me, and I still don't totally understand what my character is. If any masters could tell me; "What exactly is a Halfling Rogue/Assassin?"...

We're looking at an evil-aligned halfling character with no less than 5 levels in rogue and an indeterminate number of levels in the Assassin prestige class. Everything else is specific to the individual character (backstory, feat selection, skill investments, items, and so on).

04-01-07, 01:08 AM a halfling is a hobbit if you refer to lord of the rings (Pippin & Merry are the best exemples) A rogue is a Jack of all trade specialised in trap & sneak attacks and an assassin is an evil being who killed for money, specialised in sneaking and poison use

Others have noted the mechanical aspects of your character. Any other questions or concerns?

If you're having difficulty imagining what you look like and how to behave: you're a hired killer the size of a seven-year-old. You're not as strong as "big folk", but you excel at stealth. Your class skills and abilities are geared toward sneaking in, doing a LOT of damage to ONE target very quickly, and hopefully getting away. Gods help you if you get caught unprepared in a room full of people.

Actually, that's a very good situation for him (assuming not everyone is trying to kill him) because he can just hide in the crowd.

A room full of hostile thugs, on the other hand, might be a problem if he doesn't have maxxed ranks in Tumble or a decent escape item on hand.
