| Howland Reed03-27-08, 02:20 PM | I'm working on a quirky build...maxing Con, using Stoneblessed to go Deepwarden (and possibly also Fist of the Forest). What are some good race/template combos to maximize Con bonus? Since it's going to be a non-casting build, I can handle a little LA. Currently I'm considering: Mongrelfolk Dragonborn (+6 Con, +2 for Stoneblessed, +2 Dwarf Paragon = +10 total. NO LA!) Crucian (Same Con bonuses as above, but also +6 Str and +8 Nat. AC, for +2 LA) Draconic Dwarf Dragonborn (+6 Con, +2 Dwarf Paragon = +8 total...but also +2 Str/Cha, few other perks, only +1 LA, and no need to put 3 levels into Stoneblessed) Thoughts? Other suggestions? I considered some stuff like Stonechild or Half-Celestial Dwarf Dragonborn, but I'm thinking that's too much LA/HD delay (although Outsider HD aren't as bad as most...) |

| Howland Reed03-27-08, 08:20 PM | Forgot that one...but c'mon, dude, that's hella broken. Compare it to the Draconic or other +1 LA templates, and that's pretty clear. Thanks, though. :) |
| Xiuhcoatl03-29-08, 09:40 AM | Bullywugs also have +6 Con |
| zook1shoe66603-29-08, 12:28 PM | Lolth-touched Dragonborn Broodguard Yuan-ti Bullywug gets only a +2 LA total. +6 Str, -2 Dex, +14 Con, Int -8, Wis -4, Cha -8 |
| Howland Reed03-29-08, 01:33 PM | Thanks to both. :) (Bullywugs, eh...off to crystalkeep...) |
| 1 ton ghost03-29-08, 01:46 PM | They have that weird Con ability to AC measure. It's terribly dangerous. My friend played a dwarven one w/ some Barbarian for Rage and his AC remained unchanged; AC goes down when you rage, but your Con goes up and balances the AC per Deepwarden's (Ex). Made paperwork easier and he was terribly dangeous. Don't put all your eggs in 1 basket though. If you shoot the moon for a super high Con, you might find yourself facing alot fo Wraiths that will drink it up fast... |

| Howland Reed03-29-08, 04:23 PM | Kuo-toans are (or at least, were, when they were invented) fish-men, not frog-men. But yeah, bullywugs are frog-men. Hey, that raging trick is kinda neat. :) I'll have to keep that in mind in the build. I was going to go lawful, though...monk, then fist of the forest. Well, I'll see how it shakes down; I could take unarmed swordsage variant. Sadly, however, bullywugs are not on crystalkeep. What book are they from? (I don't have it, whatever it is, but maybe I'll see about getting it) |
| Ecalsneerg03-29-08, 06:44 PM | What book are they from? (I don't have it, whatever it is, but maybe I'll see about getting it) I believe they never got a 3.5 update. Try the 3.0 section of crystalkeep. |
| zook1shoe66603-29-08, 11:18 PM | they are in the Monsters of Faerun book I believe they never got a 3.5 update. Try the 3.0 section of crystalkeep. they got an update.... in the FR Monster Update thing. they got changed to +1 LA :( which sux |
