What's your opinions on Catfolk? [Archive] - Wizards Community

I'd give them an 7 if LA Buyoff is not in effect, a 9 if it is.

Non-mechanically speaking ... they're Catfolk. That's a 9 by itself. :)

And yeah, I'd have to agree, non-mechanically. Also, because I'm always playing dex-reliant characters, I love the +4 to dex, and a +2 Charisma never hurt anyone.

This (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/races/reducingLevelAdjustments.htm) is LA buyoff. As for Catfolk, they're one of the few LA races worth it.

Without it, they have certain coolness, but are a tiny bit underpowered for an LA+1, so I would say a 6. Without that Feat, I would give them Darkvision.

06-01-07, 12:56 PM A friend of mine "lurves teh kittehs!", so she plays a catfolk whenever she can. Having run a game with her playing one, they're not that bad for the +1 LA. I'd give them a 7 or 8 straight up, 9 if you're going monk.

I'll be honest though, the only thought I had when I saw the title was "lolcatfolks". ;)

I like them non-mechanically, as well. They look cool amd act cooler. I'd kind of like to play a street wise alley-catfolk rogue. It could be fun.

One small problem, in the non-mechanical area, though. It is all too easy for them to perverted (and I do mean perverted) into a race "lesbian ninja catgirls" by one of those creepy gamers who force you to participate in their adolecent sexual fantasies. You would think that drow were bad enought...

06-01-07, 03:22 PM From what I've seen, an easy 7 without LA buyoff or Catfolk Pounce. 9 with Catfolk pounce, but not LA buyoff, and 10 with both. My brother's catfolk rouge has yet to die (or even go below 50% health) through 15 levels. I have been amazed at that since everyone else has died at least three times.
