Because a pixie has LA +4 (+6 if you want the irresistible dance ability), that means that your main character would have to be at least 7th level to have a pixie cohort with 1 class level, because LA +4 means that a pixie wizard 1 counts as a 5th level character, despite only having something like 4 hit points. You may want to rethink that idea.

That's because they pixies are about half the size of nixies. 2.5ft compared to 4ft respectively. Both of which fall in the 2ft - 4ft small size range @X0_Lt_0X I belive Thomar_of_Uointer's post was mostly in jest (I know mine was). Although I will say that the pixie doesn't fit Tinkerbell. Anyway, I'm reasonably sure that there is a tiny-size, flying, plant-based fey in one of the MMs. As for using a pixie, I suggest asking your DM if you can create a custom Pixie-Lite. The +4 lvl adjustment means that you won't be getting the most from your cohort's spellcasting. And with only 3hp, one good AoE spell from an evil necromancer and she's out.

If Disney is your basis for MM stats, then I guess all animals can walk, talk, live in houses, drive cars, etc. Most importantly everyone have high ranks in perform (singing) and perform (dance) -- even the tea pots! Seriously, Peter Pan is a children's cartoon. Their depiction of creatures is hardly the definitive guideline for pixies or any other creature. I'm sure that the MM is based on the more commonly held view of pixies as represented in old English and Celtic origins. The work actually means "little people" and appears to come from the word 'Pics' (an iron age nation in Britton). There is a lot of old English literature talking about pixies which pre-date Disney by many centuries.
YabaTheWhat 05-24-07, 09:54 AM	Anyway, I'm reasonably sure that there is a tiny-size, flying, plant-based fey in one of the MMs. That would be the petal (MM3). From the publications I've seen, the fey nearest in physical appearance to Tinkerbell is the shimmerling (MM3 listed as swarm). Individual shimmerlings have INT 1 and STR 1. Tinkerbell, on the other hand, had roughly typical human stats in both scores (despite her size). At one point, I wanted a shimmerling familiar, so I figured out how they'd stat out individually. You can use the ability scores listed for the swarm (since a familiar's intelligence goes up to the same number as the swarm's listed intelligence). Have it shed light as a candle (activate/deactivate at will), but otherwise be unable to use the swarm's special abilities. Treat it as LA+2 (improved familiar only).

Im not going to apliy every single creature in the Disney Universe to D&D Im just useing her as a example.
