| Evil-Lincoln02-24-08, 02:05 AM | I just need a quick answer to a quick question. I know there is a humanoid rat race in DnD, I believe listed in one of the MM's. Am I right, or thinking of something else? If someone could point me in the correct direction, I'd be thankful! |
| Fireclave02-24-08, 02:35 AM | There is such a race, but I don't remember which MM it's in. |
| Evil-Lincoln02-24-08, 02:42 AM | You perhaps remember what they are called? |
| CryoSilver02-24-08, 02:44 AM | The nezumi, from Oriental Adventures are rat people. |
| ciaran02-24-08, 03:18 AM | Aah! Were Rats! Much more interesting... |
| Naderion02-24-08, 08:19 AM | Where rats? :D |
| Phelot_Plaguecrafter02-24-08, 01:36 PM | Wererats and Nezumi are the only rat-like races in DnD. Wererats in MMI Nezumi in OA. |
| Neutronium_Dragon02-24-08, 06:42 PM | There's also the anthropomorphic rat in Savage Species. It's LA +0 and the hit die can be swapped out so it's effectively ECL 0. While it might be somewhat questionable as a druid, other divine caster types are likely to be bitten by some of the negatives as much as they benefit from the wisdom bonus, so it's probably reasonable for those and it's okay for anything else (though Cha-based or speed-dependent classes would be lousy choices). |
| Soltares02-24-08, 06:55 PM | Creature Collection has a few races of ratmen called Slitheren. Some are plague rats, others are berserkers, etc. (IIRC, that same year, some Brit wrote some book about a wizard-kid who had adversaries named 'Slytherin,' but they aren't related.) |
| darksamuari02-24-08, 07:10 PM | There are Moonrats found in either Monster Manual 2 or 3. |
| Phelot_Plaguecrafter02-24-08, 07:41 PM | Okay, I take it back. Nezumi and Wererats aren't the only rat-like races in DnD. They're just the only...legitimate ones. |
| Salla02-24-08, 09:06 PM | MM3's Armands, perhaps? |
| SirGeshko02-24-08, 10:16 PM | You may be thinking of 2nd Ed... Kobolds were little rat-men then, before they were upgraded to little lizardmen. |
| ciaran02-24-08, 11:23 PM | Kobolds make decent kabobs. If you don't mind your meat a little stringy. |
| CryoSilver02-25-08, 01:17 AM | Just stew the meat before skewering it. |
