Wild Elf Weapons [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-05-07, 08:31 PM I'm currently playing a wild elf barbarian (1) who has the following ability scores:
Str: 18
Dex: 16
Con: 18
Int: 10
Wis: 14
Cha: 11
Any ideas for weapons that both make sense for the race and is good for the stats?

03-05-07, 09:04 PM I'd go with the falchion. Good stats all around and makes sort of sense.

03-06-07, 12:59 AM This is a little off-beat, but consider a moment: Mighty Composite Greatbow (from Complete Warrior); d10+4 damage at range is not to be sneezed at! Otherwise, look at wild-elf weapon proficiencies - if wild elves get sword as an automatic, make it bastard or great sword. If you feel this is a little too sophisticated, go for an axe - great axe says 'scary' more than anything and will even placate Prof. T. fans (Sindarin elves prefered axes to swords).

I'd suggest a Greatsword or Greataxe, but if you're willing to spend the feat a Bastard Sword is good. You can go sword & board for the extra AC, or just wield it 2H for the str bonus, power attack etc. A scythe in the right hands can be one awesome weapon.

03-06-07, 06:35 PM 2H melee machine: greataxe or falchion (with javelins to throw if you can't reach enemy)

Woodland strategist (i.e. rage when you need it, tactical decisions otherwise): composite longbow, bastard sword, buckler, and throwing axes.

03-07-07, 06:46 PM I affiliate wild elves more with spears (say a greatspear), or something else that can be easily made and mostly wooden. A falchion could work, I guess - as can a greatsword/axe.
