Now, go to the Errata, look up the changes to Wildshape, and read it. If it says you keep your type and subtype traits, then you keep them, if it says you don't, then you don't. |
| bigsnarf07-01-07, 02:43 PM | Sorry. I just thought bold looks better, it make me feel 10 feet tall. |
| Crimson_Concerto07-01-07, 02:46 PM | Sorry. I just thought bold looks better, it make me feel 10 feet tall....How old are you? :uh-huh: Anyways, as you can plainly see if you followed my instructions, it says you keep your own type and subtype. Ta-da. There's your answer which you already knew... So why did you feel the need to ask us this? |
| northern_bear07-01-07, 02:51 PM | There was a dragon shards article on this: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ebds/20051024a Key quote: While in wild shape, a warforged is no longer considered a construct: it loses access to its racial immunities and any armor bonus it possesses from composite plating or Ironwood Body. It cannot be repaired using repair damage, but it receives the full benefit of spells of the healing subschool. While Races of Eberron states that warforged druids maintain armor bonuses and racial immunities in animal form, this is incorrect. |
| bigsnarf07-01-07, 02:51 PM | 31, but dont worry, we are all kids at heart. I checked and the characters subtype changes to animal, i must have over-looked it. |
| Crimson_Concerto07-01-07, 03:00 PM | There was a dragon shards article on this:I honestly wouldn't trust this type of article, considering how it completely ignores the rules of the game to make that statement. After all, no other type gets to change to Animal when it wildshapes, so why shouldn't Warforged be treated exactly the same? This article dealt with the concept of the Warforged Druid well, but it wasn't exactly well-informed about the mechanics. 31, but dont worry, we are all kids at heart. I checked and the characters subtype changes to animal, i must have over-looked it.Really? Where does it say that? This is news to me. Alternate Form says that the default type and subtype are kept, according to the Errata and SRD... |
| bigsnarf07-01-07, 03:09 PM | The wildshape ability is like polymorph, and polymorph states that your type changes. |
| Crimson_Concerto07-01-07, 03:10 PM | The wildshape ability is like polymorph, and polymorph states that your type changes.No. The Wildshape Ability is like Alternate Form, and it says that your type doesn't change. Read the Errata on both Wildshape and Alternate Form, like I told you to. |
| bigsnarf07-01-07, 03:16 PM | Checked it out, your correct and I am now happy. |
| Yadot07-01-07, 03:34 PM | I honestly wouldn't trust this type of article, considering how it completely ignores the rules of the game to make that statement. The Dragonshards article was made before the Wildshape eratta, when it was still based on Polymorph |
| Crimson_Concerto07-01-07, 03:39 PM | The Dragonshards article was made before the Wildshape eratta, when it was still based on PolymorphFair enough. It's not quite as useless and laughable as I thought, then. :) |
| runestar07-01-07, 10:44 PM | And the nice thing is that you retain your ironwood body feat...:P |
| bigsnarf07-02-07, 10:54 AM | So a warforged would look like a construct animal in its animal form? |
| Manyfist07-02-07, 10:58 AM | So a warforged would look like a construct animal in its animal form? Well Warforged are "Human" so I would imagine a Warforged Animal, look like the "base" however warforged (I.E Wooden body, with other inorganic and organic materials.) Or you could just say they look normal. |
| ArcTan07-02-07, 10:33 PM | So a warforged would look like a construct animal in its animal form? No, why would it? Under current rules a Human Druid who Wildshapes becomes a Wolf (for example) who still has Type: Humanoid. Does that make her look like a "humanoid" Wolf? No. It just means she takes a different shape but is the same underneath. |
