Hello,

I'm new to the forums and was wanting to make a wolfen race like that off confrontation.

Well anyway I'm also not a very experienced player and was thinking of using the feral gargun as a template for the wolfen in our campaigns. But the question i have is if i gave my wolfen SCENT at first level and take away the 1st level feature would that make it to powerful or would that be an even trade off.

for more information see races of stone book page 90 for feral gargun. and for those with out.
HD --BAB -- FORT -- REF -- WILL-- SKILL POINTS -- CR --SPECIAL
1st level: 1d8-- +1 -- 0 -- 2 -- 2 -- (2+int mod)x4 --1-- feat(Instead i want scent of a feat), 2 claws 1d4

2nd level: 1d8 -- +1-- 0 -- 2 -- 2-- x xxx xxx -- 1-- +1 nat. armor, acclimated, +2 str, +2 con

3rd level: 2d8 -- +2 -- 0 -- 3 -- 3 -- (2+int mod) -- 2 -- powerful build, 2 claws 1d6

4th level: 2d8 -- +2 -- 0 -- 3 -- 3 -- xxx xxx -- 2 -- +2 con, +2 dex, +2 natural armor

-medium
-speed 30ft
-darkvision 60ft
-goliath blood
-mountain movment: make standing long jumps and high jumps as if they were running long jumps and jumps. they can engage in accelerated climbing without taking the -5 penalty on the climb check
-resistence to cold 5

Weapon and armor proficiency: proficient with simple weapons but not any armor or sheild

powerful build: from 3rd level on, feral garguns( wolfen in my case) grow large enough that, although they are medium creatures, they are treated as large for many purposes.

didnt proof read and bad speller sorry but i was just looking for any input on substituting scent for a feat.

So you plan on making a racial class, right. I think that scent should be fine, its not much more powerful than just a feat.
