Has anyone converted these races and remained true to how they are in WoW? The WoW RPG by White Wolf is awfull. For example, the Forsaken/Undead in WoW are nothing like D&D undead. They are NOT immune to crits, poison, drowning and other things undead are normally immune to. They are more like Warforged in terms of abilities than normal undead.

I'm mostly interested in what Draenei would be like in D&D. So if someone managed to stat out Draenei or other races as they are in WoW, not in D&D, I'd be interested in seeing.

The Forsaken are not like D&D undead because Warcraft Undead are not like D&D Undead.

Also, I imagine that Forsaken and other races were designed to be LA +0 races. Giving a base race the standard D&D undead immunities and abilities would boost its level adustment up a couple of levels at least.

At a guess, Draenei stats would be: -2 Dex, +2 Wis, +2 on craft and Appraise checks involving gems, +2 on saves against necromancy spells, and can cast either Bless or Lesser Vigor as a spell-like ability 1/day.

You could use the Dragonmark feats in Eberron as a guide, for prerequisites, and allow them to take similar feats that allow more frequent use or the higher-level vigor spells.

well to answer your question it was done already with the Warcraft campaign setting. it has the orcs, humans, night elves, blood elves, tauren, and dwarves in it. only the campaign setting is published by wotc, then they sold it to sword and sorcery who continued the series and produced the World of Warcraft campaign setting, which changed the way those races worked, also they put gnomes in it also. the afore mentioned races are strictly for that particular setting, as the have abilities that differ from there Core DnD counterparts.

Here is one take on what the Draenei should be like.

The author of this was a co-author of the WoW rpg handbook, but he has A LOT of his own ideas on how things should have been done (in terms of classes mostly).

Forsaken should get all Undead traits. In fact, they did in the beta tests of WoW. However, being immune to all that stuff was way too powerful for a game with significant PvP interaction, especially when Undead were only available for one side. Thus, they nerfed it down to a racial for breaking mind affecting spells. So, if you want to remain true to the setting, Forsaken should indeed be full Undead.

As for the rest, the only difficult one is Tauren, because they either end up being weaker than they seem in the setting, or having an LA.

It's not true to the setting for Forsaken to have full Undead Traits whatsoever. Them being nerfed is what we call here as "errata". Just because something was that way at the very start doesn't mean it's how it was supposed to be. If that were the case I don't think we would have D&D 3.5 now would we? We'd still have 1st ed or those little boxes. Remeber some changes some classes got that made them less powerfull as some feats were changed or spells changed or taken away? No race should have a LA whatsoever because in WoW you can play all the races at level 1. They should all be on equal footing. What instead should be allowed for Forsaken in a d20 game would perhaps be more along the line of what Warforged can do in Eberron with the PrC that makes them more like a construct. Just change it around to make the Forsaken more like a full undead.

Actually, I did a Draenei race not long ago. Draenei. (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=811107)

And that is correct. The Forsaken shouldn't have complete undead traits. If anything, I think they'd be something like an undead version of the Warforged.
