| Serge_P01-30-08, 04:25 PM | With the help of Complete Scoundrel, a character can wield 10 weapons. (I.E. 2 rapiers, 6 daggers (2 Sleeveblades, 2 bootblades, 2 elbowblades) and 2 shortswords (Kneeblades)) Is there a feat for improving the ability? Can the character get Multiweapon-, improved multiweapon- and greater multiweaponfighting without having 3 or more arms? Should/Can I make a 5-level (or even better, a 3-level) prestige class that improves those abilities? |

If you want to make a PrC for someone crazy enough to do that, by all means go ahead. |
| Serge_P01-30-08, 04:38 PM | No, the MWF/IMWF/etc. feats require natural weapons. If you want to make a PrC for someone crazy enough to do that, by all means go ahead. AFAIK, Multiattack requires natural weapons, multiweapon fighting don't. Does anyone have a link to the ECL calc or any guides in making PrCs? |
| Unholy_King01-30-08, 05:59 PM | Remember, you still only get two attacks, regardless of the number of weapons you wield. |
| Watsyurname52901-30-08, 06:12 PM | Remember, you still only get two attacks, regardless of the number of weapons you wield. That's only for a standard action. A Full-Round by RAW you would be able to do this but I wouldn't allow it unless each attack was made at a further penalty. |
| Unholy_King01-30-08, 06:21 PM | A standard action would get him one attack with his main hand. A full attack would give him a number of main hand attacks decided by his BAB plus one off-hand attack. A two-armed creature, unless having a special racial ability saying otherwise, only has one off-hand attack. If a human is holding 10 weapons, he can still only take a mainhand attack and a single offhand attack. If a Thri-keen (sp) was holding 10 weapons, do to his extra hands, would get one main hand attack and 3 off-hand attack (Plus a bite attack, but lgnore that for now) |

With out the proper feats/abilities you would only get one off hand attack unless you had Imp. TWF or something. |
| Eldritch_Lord01-30-08, 09:29 PM | AFAIK, Multiattack requires natural weapons, multiweapon fighting don't. Ahem. Multiweapon Fighting [General] Prerequisites Dex 13, three or more hands. Benefit Penalties for fighting with multiple weapons are reduced by 2 with the primary hand and reduced by 6 with off hands. Normal A creature without this feat takes a -6 penalty on attacks made with its primary hand and a -10 penalty on attacks made with its off hands. (It has one primary hand, and all the others are off hands.) See Two-Weapon Fighting. Special This feat replaces the Two-Weapon Fighting feat for creatures with more than two arms. Emphasis mine. |
| CryoSilver01-30-08, 09:38 PM | Just stab a guy and steal his arm; keep it in your backpack. Multiweapon Fighting doesn't specify that the third hand necessarily be attached to your body... :P |
| Eldritch_Lord01-31-08, 05:04 PM | Just stab a guy and steal his arm; keep it in your backpack. Multiweapon Fighting doesn't specify that the third hand necessarily be attached to your body... :P You know, that's a good point; I wonder if having a Third Arm (whatever the full name is) from Eberron would let you qualify for this, even if you can't use the third arm to fight...:plotting: |
| Drackthor01-31-08, 06:10 PM | Just stab a guy and steal his arm; keep it in your backpack. Multiweapon Fighting doesn't specify that the third hand necessarily be attached to your body... :P And so RAW hits a new low. :surrender |
| Eldritch_Lord02-01-08, 08:06 PM | And so RAW hits a new low. :surrender You mean a new high. Just think, it makes the trophy-taking barbarian a worthwhile concept: "Every time Krusk take new arm, Krusk attack one time more in six second!" |
| Eikre02-03-08, 06:27 PM | You could make a kilt out of all the arms! |
| Eldritch_Lord02-03-08, 10:49 PM | Now, if you cut off a monk's arms, could you make a Flurry of Blows with them as a "special monk weapon"? You should at least get Improved Unarmed Strike; if that doesn't make your punches count as "armed" strikes, I don't know what would. |
| Ikeman0402-03-08, 10:54 PM | In all seriousness, I think someone needs to design a PrC based around this. I might put myself up to the task. |
| DebiHuman02-04-08, 01:58 AM | The haste spell may help. When making a full attack action, a hasted creature may make one extra attack with any weapon he is holding. That at least gets you an additional attack (and you can use any weapon that you are holding). Having ten-weapons hidden on your body doesn't make it necessarily possible for you to use all ten weapons. You still have to remove all those weapons (sleeveblade, bootblades, elbowblade and kneeblades) before you can use them. You might want to take the Quick Draw feat for each type of weapon. Just some random thoughts. Debby |
| Eldritch_Lord02-04-08, 11:25 PM | In all seriousness, I think someone needs to design a PrC based around this. I might put myself up to the task. Oh, dear gods. I shudder to think of what the name of that PrC and its abilities would look like. Please, no puns; think of the children. ...On second thought, if you don't include puns aplenty, I'd be sorely disappointed. Bring on "armed unarmed combat" and any variations thereof. |
| Fireclave02-04-08, 11:39 PM | I would rule that with Two-Weapon fighting, the character could use any of his weapons as off-hand weapons so long as he had a way to draw them. So if the character had Greater TWF, he could stab with a sleeveblade, round-house kick with an unarmed attack, and throw a dart at some guy across the room with his three extra off-hand attacks for all I care. BTW, am I the only one who thought the title of the thread was a binary math joke? |
| Sinfire Titan02-04-08, 11:50 PM | In all seriousness, I think someone needs to design a PrC based around this. I might put myself up to the task. Good. I have had a Dvati villain based around this whole concept just waiting for it to happen. |
| Eldritch_Lord02-05-08, 04:54 PM | BTW, am I the only one who thought the title of the thread was a binary math joke? No, but the idea of multiple hidden weapons and then the idea of wielding others' limbs *ahem* grabbed me before I could comment. |

Not often you see someone quote a quote that proves themselves wrong, is it? Read what you highlighted: 3 or more HANDS not 3 or more natural weapons. |
| M-bark02-05-08, 06:15 PM | Not often you see someone quote a quote that proves themselves wrong, is it? Read what you highlighted: 3 or more HANDS not 3 or more natural weapons. The first person says it requires natural weapons, the other *ahem*'d and pointed out that three hands were needed, and there was no mention of natural weapons. I.E.: Eldritch Lord made no mistake. ;) |

| Eldritch_Lord02-05-08, 09:02 PM | Ummm. Eldritch Lord WAS the one who sair it needed natural weapons. Post 2? Holy ****, you're right...sort of. I thought he said Multiattack and Multiweapon Fighting required natural attacks, and I was disagreeing that MWF needed natural attacks, but he actually was contrasting the two. My mistake. However, I was emphasizing that it didn't need natural weapons, not saying it did need natural weapons. |

| Eldritch_Lord02-06-08, 07:09 PM | :rimshot: That was the intention, yes. |
| CryoSilver02-07-08, 01:54 AM | I can just imagine the flavor text for a PrC based on using all those weapons: "You know how mother said not to run with scissors? F*** that!" |
| Serge_P02-19-08, 08:33 AM | "You know how mother said not to run with scissors? F*** that!" :cookie: Suggested names for PrC: Painblade Bladestorm Archblade 10-weapon fighter Arch porcupine Blademaster Multi-weapon master Blade wind Storm of blades Bladeflurry Painstorm Bleeding wind And my favourite: 10weaponwieldingwhachamaycallit. :lop: vs :invasion: = Post a link when finished with that class. |
| Eldritch_Lord02-19-08, 07:10 PM | "You know how mother said not to run with scissors? F*** that!" Make that two :cookie:s. |
| BrianMc22302-19-08, 07:51 PM | Even if they only get to hit with once with each weapon, imagine what kind of damage Rogue15/HumanQuisinart5 could dish out. 80d6 sneak attack damage.... not to mention whatever that actual weapons do. Love it. |
| pigknight02-20-08, 04:51 PM | get a thri-keen and you have 12 attacks and 3+ arms in the sense that the designers ment. |
| Eldritch_Lord02-20-08, 08:40 PM | get a thri-keen and you have 12 attacks and 3+ arms in the sense that the designers ment. Aw, come on! Where's the fun in that? |
| NightHawkFalconis02-20-08, 09:06 PM | Oddly enough, even looking through the errata, there is no mention in the Complete Scoundrel as to what type of attack (main/off-hand/tertiary/whatever) the hidden blades are. In some senses, that means that one cannot make attacks with the weapons (despite it saying that they can be used at a -2 penalty). However, I seriously doubt that was the intention of the designers, so it'd probably be up to the DM to decide what kind of attack these hidden blades would be. While attacking, they remain attached firmly to the requisite body part (someone mentioned having to detach them... WTF?). Personally, I'd be inclined to lump them into "off-hand attacks." While they were intended to be used in an emergency (the boot/knee blades when hands are tied up, etc), incorporating them into a full attack might be possible; after all, the attacks are already at -2. As a DM, I'd never allow it. As a player, it's totally cool. :D |
| Red_Wizards_Rock02-20-08, 10:13 PM | What's the point in the PrC? are you trying to make 10 attacks in a round? |
| M-bark02-21-08, 11:03 AM | What's the point in the PrC? are you trying to make 10 attacks in a round? No. We're going to try and make 4 attacks WITH EVERY WEAPON. 40 weapons on full-round attack! Woohoo! "Look at me, mommy, I'm Edward Scissorhands!" "Looks to me as if it ain't just the hands, honey." |
