Just on a spur of the moment I thought of an idea were a feat increases the bonus on iterative attacks, with the bonus increasing based on the number of attacks.

My initial thought was +1 bonus on the second attack, +2 bonus on the third, and +3 bonus on the fourth. Of course these bonuses only apply if you have that many attacks in question (based on BAB and not TWF).

Thoughts?

The problem is that you are correct, it is exactly something that players want. The way the ability to kill a creature at will, no save is what players want.

The nature of the current system is that attacks are about 50% likely to hit, on average. The first attack is almost certain, the last is almost certain not to. Moreover, this means that while it is generally OK to Power Attack/Combat Expertise with the first attack, it really costs you the chance of hitting on your last attack. Your idea would lessen this effect.

Strict: No;

Loose Game: Maybe if it had some high pre-reqs, you could go as high as +3 for the last attack (+0 for first attack).

Power Game: Put in a couple of easy pre-reqs, let it go as high as +4 for the last attack

Anything Goes Game: Fine as is.

I did something kind of like this, cept that it added to damage. The name escapes me, but you dealt an additional 1d6 with your second strike, 2d6 with the third, etc.

That way the attacks are still less accurate, but you get more bang for you buck if you manage to hit with those later attacks. Wearing your opponent down after a long chain combo and such. ^^

Three words: Thri-Kreen TWF Monk.

That or any way to get ungodly numbers of attacks.

This is probably where I'd be at. I wouldn't have too high of pre-reqs though. BAB +6, and Dex 13 (15 maybe?) sounds fair I think.

I think a set number would be better. Maybe +2 on all attacks after the first? BAB requirement of 10.

I don't have my PHBII with me, but isn't there a moderate-to-high level feat there that lets you get a cumulative +1 to attacks, for the remainder of the current round, for each attack that successfully hits in the current round? Think it works with bludgeoning weapons only.

Might be a point of comparison for a proposed feat like this.

Maybwe we can make it better, but reuiqre like 10 levels of Fighter or something to make fighters look more attractive?
