| PocketAsian08-01-07, 01:04 PM | Hi, I have a few questions in reagrds to some feats in the Book of Exalted Deeds. My first one is Sanctify Ki Strike and Sanctify Natural Attack, does the additional damage stack? And my second one is Holy Ki Strike, it requires Ki Strike (Holy). Where would this be located? Can't quite seem to find it. Thanks in advance for taking the time to help me out. |

My first one is Sanctify Ki Strike and Sanctify Natural Attack, does the additional damage stack? I think so. And my second one is Holy Ki Strike, it requires Ki Strike (Holy). Where would this be located? Can't quite seem to find it. From the FAQ: The Holy Ki Strike feat from the Book of Exalted Deeds (page 44) lists “Ki strike (holy)” as a prerequisite, but that ability doesn’t exist in the book. Is that a typo or is it in a different book? This looks like an error, since no such ability exists. Sanctify Ki Strike (page 46), a prerequisite for Holy Ki Strike, lists “Ki strike (lawful)” as a prerequisite. This suggests that Holy Ki Strike’s prerequisite should be the same. While no official errata for Book of Exalted Deeds exists, this seems like a reasonable conclusion for DMs who use the feat. |

In addition, if you do have both, Sanctify Natural weapons will have NO affect on unarmed attacks. The Sanctify Natural weapon specifies a Natural weapon, which is not an an unarmed strike While often you can substitute an unarmed strike for anything that works on a natural weapon, this does not work all the time, and this is not one of those cases. The line on page 41 of the PHB that lets you sometimes treat an unarmed strike as a natural weapon for purposes of feats that apply to them is not relevant because of the existence of the Sanctify Ki Strike feat. Another example when they are not intercahngable is the fact that, you can not use your natural attacks in place of a monk unarmed attack. |
