Just some random feats I've come up with. "Level adjustment" in this context is shorthand for "this metamagic feat increases the slot of a spell by...;" i.e., Silent Spell would have a +1 level adjustment.

Augmented Critical (fighter)
Prerequisites: Base attack bonus +10, Improved Critical (with weapon), Weapon Focus (with weapon)
Benefit: Choose a single weapon with which you have both Weapon Focus and Improved Critical. This weapon cannot have a critical threat range greater than 19-20, or a crit multiplier greater than x3. Your critical multiplier increases by 1, from x2 to x3 or x3 to x4.

Aura of Healing (exalted)
Prerequisites: Lay on hands, good alignment, Cha 15+
Benefits: As a full-round action which provokes attacks of opportunity, you may use your lay on hands ability to heal yourself and multiple allies within 10' of you. You may expend as many hp of healing as you desire, and the healing energy is divided evenly between all affected characters. You may choose who gets healed, and need not include yourself. You cannot use Aura of Healing offensively, to damage undead.

Boar's Thrust (fighter)
Prerequisites: Dex 13+, base attack bonus +3
Benefits: If you stand up from prone and immediately make an attack with a piercing melee weapon you gain a +2 circumstance bonus to that attack roll. You do not gain this bonus if you move, even taking a 5' step, before attacking. If you somehow gain multiple attacks you gain the bonus only to the first. Standing up from prone normally provokes an attack of opportunity.
You cannot use Boar's Thrust more than once per combat.

Cautious Charge (fighter)
Prerequisites: Wis 13+
Benefits: You do not incur the standard -2 penalty to AC when charging.

Chug (general)
Prerequisites: Con 13+
Benefits: You can drink a potion (or any other drink of one pint or less) as a move-equivalent action which does not provoke an attack of opportunity.
Normal: Drinking a potion is a standard action which provokes attacks of opportunity.

Defensive Archery (fighter)
Prerequisite: Proficiency with long or shortbow.
Benefits: You are skilled at using your bow as a staff to deflect incoming attacks. When you make an attack or full attack with a long or shortbow you gain a +2 shield bonus to your AC until your next action.

Fey Heritage (talent)
Prerequisites: Cha 13+
Benefit: Choose a number of 0-level spells from the druid list equal to 3+ your Charisma bonus. You can cast these spells once each per day as spell-like abilities. Caster level is always considered to be 1st. If you wish to cast the same spell more than once, you must select it twice or more when you take this feat. If your Charisma increases later, you do not gain more spells.

Fight Through the Pain (general)
Prerequisites: Endurance, Iron Will, base Fort and Will saves +4
Benefits: You may take a single standard or move action on your turn each round when you are dazed or stunned, and thus normally unable to take actions. If you attack, you suffer a -4 circumstance penalty if dazed, -8 if stunned. If you cast a spell you must make a Concentration check or lose the spell (DC 20+spell level if dazed, 24+spell level if stunned). If you move, your speed is halved. Any Strength- or Dexterity-based skill checks you are required to make during this action suffer a -4 penalty if you are dazed, -8 if stunned.

Iron Silk (general)
Prerequisites: Dex 15+, base attack bonus +1
Benefits: You can use a simple piece of cloth as a melee weapon. You must take a standard action to begin twirling the cloth about, after which time you may use the cloth in all ways as a quarterstaff. You can double-move while maintaining the cloth as a staff, but you cannot full run.
Note: This feat cannot be used while wearing medium or heavy armor.

Lightning Draw (fighter)
Prerequisites: Quick Draw, Weapon Focus (slashing melee weapon), BAB +5
Benefit: If you draw and attack with a weapon in the same round, you gain a +1 to the first attack roll you make, and +1 to damage on that attack. You can only use Lightning Draw with the slashing melee weapon with which you have Weapon Focus. You cannot use Lightning Draw more than once per combat.

Master the Blade (epic)
Prerequisites: Iron Will
Benefit: You can use magical items with an alignment opposed to your own (law/chaos or good/evil) without suffering the negative level penalty. You still suffer any and all other penalties.
Normal: When you use a magical item with an alignment opposed to your own (such as good character using an unholy sword) you suffer one negative level until you release the weapon.

Righteous Charge (exalted)
Prerequisites: Smite ability, base attack bonus +3
Benefits: If you charge a foe and use your smite ability simultaneously, you deal +2d6 points of damage. If you smite an inappropriate target, not only is your smite wasted but your righteous charge has no effect either.

Seeking Spell (metamagic)
Benefit: A Seeking spell affects only one creature type, chosen at the time you prepare (or, if a sorcerer, cast) the spell. All other creatures are totally immune to the Seeking spell's effects.
Level adjustment: +2.

Sheathing the Sword (fighter)
Prerequisites: Base attack bonus +5, Combat Reflexes, Weapon Focus
Benefit: As a free action you may give up your Dexterity bonus to AC and take an additional -5 penalty (as if you had a Dex of 1). In exchange, you may make one attack of opportunity against an opponent within your reach who does not normally provoke one. In essence, you allow your enemy to hit you in exchange for a free attack on them.

Third Leg (fighter)
Prerequisites: Base attack bonus +1, Dex 15+
Benefits: You may make trip attempts with a quarterstaff, spear, or similar pole weapon. In addition, when you are armed with a quarterstaff, spear or similar polearm, you gain a +2 bonus on the opposed ability check to resist being tripped or bull rushed.

Up the Spear (fighter)
Prerequisites: Endurance, Con 13+, BAB +5
Benefit: If you are struck by a piercing melee weapon of Medium size, or a slashing weapon with a long, straight blade (such as a longsword but not a battleaxe or scimitar) you may opt to take double damage from the attack by literally forcing your body up the blade. In return, you gain one attack of opportunity on the attacker. You must declare the use of this feat after you are hit but before damage is rolled. If the hit was a critical hit, the critical multiplier is increased by +1 (instead of doubling damage) due to your suicidal actions.

Wheel of Oak (fighter)
Prerequisites: Two-Weapon Defense, Two-Weapon Fighting, Weapon Focus (quarterstaff)
Benefits: When you take the full attack action with the quarterstaff your shield bonus to AC from Two-Weapon Defense increases to +2. If you opt to fight defensively, the bonuses is +3 instead of the usual +2 bonus for fighting defensively. If you use the full defense action, you gain a +6 bonus to AC instead of the usual +4.

Wild Singer (general)
Prerequisites: Bardic music, Perform (any) 6 ranks, Wis 13
Benefits: You gain the wild empathy special ability as a druid of your bard level. Using wild empathy expends one daily use of your bardic music. In order to use wild empathy you must sing, hum, or otherwise vocalize in a soothing manner.

Boars Thrust seems more like a manuever, it could be used to have as many prone up attacks in combat as wanted, since while your prone a lot can happen.

in defensive archery I'd prolly make it a dodge bonus. It stacks with everything, including itself and makes more sense than trying to use a bow as a shield.

Not familiar with manuvers...what book are they in?
BTW, Boar's Thrust is the name of an actual, real-world fencing move.

Hmm...using the bow as a shield was sort of my idea...Ultimately, I guess it doesn't matter much since dodge bonuses stack, and no archer with this feat will be getting a shield bonus (bucklers notwithstanding).

Augmented Critical (fighter)
I would be concerned about taking a weapon that started out as 18-20x2 and letting it end up as 15-20x3, with just two feats. Similarly, it's use on a weapon of 20x4 (or higher) is suspect.

If you limit this to weapons of 20x2, 19-20x2, or 20x3, I see it as fair.

Aura of Healing (exalted)
nice feat.

Boar's Thrust (fighter)
ok

Cautious Charge (fighter)
Reasonable.

Chug (general)
Questionable. This lets you do two potions a round. Maybe with two or three worthless feats as pre-reqs. you could make Chug do lets you as a Standard Action retrieve a potion from anywhere and drink it. Then Improved Chug would do the original, but require Chug, and Lightning Reflexes.

Defensive Archery (fighter)
Why? No reason? Sounds silly. Very silly. Maybe with a lot better fluff text, and maybe a requirement such as must be using ready action with Many-shot.

Fey Heritage (talent)
Within reason for a feat.

Fight Through the Pain (general)
I would consider raising the Concentration checks for spellcasting by +4, but otherwise this is an interesting feat.

[B]Iron Silk (general)
I would give a minimum size/weight requirement, but otherwise a good feat.

Lightning Draw (fighter)
Worded wierdly. +1 to damage if it succeeds? What would +1 to damage do if the attack did not succeed? This is really just +1 to hit and damage.
But otherwise a very good feat.

Master the Blade (general)
Nice Epic feat. Maybe you could do it as multiple non-epic feats. While the penalties are low, they are very strong role-playing reasons to not allow this.

Righteous Charge (exalted)
Reasonable feat.

Seeking Spell (metamagic)
Great feat.

Sheathing the Sword (fighter)
Better designed feat than Robilar's Gambit.

Swift Metamagic (metamagic)
Read about the feat called Rapid Metamagic casting.

Third Leg (fighter)
Good feat.

Up the Spear (fighter)
I like this feat, even if it perpetuates the myth that damage is not just fleshwounds.

Wheel of Oak (fighter)
Nice feat.

Wild Singer (general)
Good feat.

Thanks for the detailed feedback, tarkin!

It's a minimum of three feats (granted that most warrior-types will take Weapon Focus anyway).

How would you word it to make it balanced? Perhaps "this feat can only be applied to a weapon with a critical threat range of 19-20 or less, and a critical multiplier of x3 or less"?

Chug (general)

So, you're suggesting Chug be Quick Draw for potions, with Improved Chug being what Chug is now?
Keep in mind, the only way to down two potions in a round is to have one ready in each hand. Chug makes it a move action to drink one, but it's still a move action to retrieve one.

Defensive Archery (fighter)
Why? No reason? Sounds silly. Very silly. Maybe with a lot better fluff text, and maybe a requirement such as must be using ready action with Many-shot.

The idea is that you're using your bow as a shield, to deflect attacks. Added some fluff.

Fight Through the Pain (general)

Done.

Iron Silk (general)
I would give a minimum size/weight requirement, but otherwise a good feat.

You mean for the wielder, or for the silk?

Lightning Draw (fighter)
Worded wierdly. +1 to damage if it succeeds? What would +1 to damage do if the attack did not succeed? This is really just +1 to hit and damage.
But otherwise a very good feat.

Good point. Edited.

Master the Blade (general)
Nice Epic feat. Maybe you could do it as multiple non-epic feats. While the penalties are low, they are very strong role-playing reasons to not allow this.

Hadn't considered it that way. Changed to Epic.

Swift Metamagic (metamagic)
Read about the feat called Rapid Metamagic casting.

(sigh) Deleted. Note that I invented this feat well before the WotC version was published.

Up the Spear (fighter)
I like this feat, even if it perpetuates the myth that damage is not just fleshwounds.

Some damage is fleshwounds. Some damage is fatigue. Some damage is a big, pointy thing being stuck through your torso.
